One of my E3 2012 surprises was NBA Baller Beats. This unique music-rhythm game for Xbox 360 Kinect is controlled with a basketball. Some of my colleagues thought it was a clever title, while others thought it was a bit silly. Personally, I love the idea of a DDR-type game controlled with a basketball. Check out the video below to get more info on NBA Baller Beats and see actual people playing it. When you’re done seeing the game in action, please let me know if this is something you’d be interested in playing.

E3 2012: Double Dragon Neon Video Interview
Double Dragon Neon is a fun downloadable game set for a Summer 2012 release on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Featuring an updated version of the classic Double Dragon cooperative play — dubbed bro-op — this game is a love letter to the original arcade version and the ’80s in general. RPad.TV’s Justin Leeper caught up with Majesco’s Onix Alicea to learn more about Double Dragon Neon, as well as to exchange high-fives, chest bumps, and other bromantic gestures.

One of the hottest games at E3 2012, Dishonored mixes stealth-action and RPG elements — exactly what you’d expect from a team lead by the amazing Harvey Smith (Deus Ex, System Shock). E3 2012: Epic Mickey 2 Video Interview
Disney’s Epic Mickey was a wonderful game, but a lot of hardcore gamers didn’t play it because it was a Wii exclusive. That won’t be a problem with Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Junction Point Studios is taking the game to new heights and to more gamers than ever since this super sequel will hit PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. RPad.TV’s Justin Leeper caught up with associate producer Tucker George to get more details on Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Check it out and let me know what you think (please!).
Nintendo E3 2012 Press Conference Open Discussion
Nintendo has already revealed two controllers and a long overdue social network (Miiverse) at its pre-press-conference briefing. What does the company have in store for its proper press conference? Let’s find out together! You can watch the Nintendo E3 2012 press conference right here. As the info flows, please let me know what you think. With so much riding on the Wii U, Nintendo has to bust out some homeruns at this year’s show. I can’t wait to see if Nintendo can win over the mostly unenthused enthusiast-gaming press and the hardcore gaming crowd.
Sony E3 2012 Press Conference Open Discussion
Sony’s E3 2012 presser is just hours away. You can watch the event live right here. As the announcements are made, I’d love to hear what you think of them. Please leave your excellent thoughts in the comments section and I’ll do the same from the event (if my wireless connection permits).
Microsoft E3 2012 Press Conference Open Discussion
Let’s go old-school for this year’s E3 2012 press conference coverage. I don’t want to be shut out by poor Internet connections and 9/10 you guys say more interesting things than any game journalist. Whether you’re watching on Spike TV or Xbox.com, I’d love to get your thoughts this year’s Microsoft presser. I’ll be mixing it up with you guys in the comments section during the event (Internet connection permitting) so fire away (please)!
Satoru Iwata Talking Nintendo Wii U at 3PM PDT Today
Yesterday, Nintendo announced that company global president Satoru Iwata will be revealing new information on the upcoming Wii U at 3PM PDT today. You can watch the announcement here. The timing is very curious. The company has a major press conference scheduled for Tuesday, a large number of E3 attendees are traveling on Sunday, and most attendees in town already have plans for Sunday. It’s cool for fans to watch and all, but announcing a pre-press-conference announcement with a day’s notice sounds like poor planning.
My initial reaction was that Nintendo wanted to get a brief word in before the Microsoft and Sony pressers, kind of like the Internet equivalent of posting, “First!!!” in the comments section of a blog post. What do you think?
While the Nintendo event is happening, I’ll be imbibing beverages at a lovely industry party, catching up with old friends and making new ones. I’m sure we’ll be talking about the Wii U there, but I sure as hell won’t be formally covering it. That party will be immediately followed by a shindig from the fine folks at Polygon and Qualcomm, so I don’t expect to be writing about it all. If you happen to watch the event, I’d love to hear your thoughts on Iwata’s Wii U announcement. Please let me know!
