Axl Rose Sues Activision Because He Hates Slash

Guns N’ Roses frontman W. Axl Rose is suing Activision…pretty much because he hates former bandmate Slash. Rose was under the impression that Slash and his new band Velvet Revolver would not be  in Guitar Hero III. He was under the impression that Slash imagery would be used for a tradeshow and not in the actual game. Here’s the skinny from The Hollywood Reporter:

The Guns N’ Roses frontman has just filed a $20 million lawsuit against Guitar Hero maker Activision claiming its use of the GNR song “Welcome to the Jungle” violated a deal not to include any imagery of ex-guitarist Saul Hudson (aka Slash) in the popular game.

In an amusing lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Rose and his Black Frog Music claim that Activision Blizzard fraudulently induced Rose into authorizing “Jungle” for use in Guitar Hero III by telling him during negotiations that it wouldn’t feature any reference to the former GNR member or his subsequent band, Velvet Revolver.

As much as I loved GNR back in the day, I always thought Axl was a dick. This confirms it.

I loved this cartoon and theme song as a kid, so I was thrilled to hear a soulful man — dressed as Tummi Gummi and drinking gummiberry juice! — dazzle the crowd with the song. Jeff Hardy Shoots on CM Punk in a Diner

Former WWE Superstar and current TNA World Champion Jeff “The Drug Trafficker” Hardy posted a shoot video blasting CM Punk. He rips on Punk’s attitude and straight-edge lifestyle. He also comes across as a drugged-out loser. To make it a family affair, Matt Hardy adds a line about CM Punk’s relationship with Amy Dumas (WWE Lita). Longtime WWE fans will remember that Hardy and Dumas used to date…before she cheated on him with Edge. Holy crap. Pro-wrestling really is a soap opera!

It’s Thanksgiving weekend — a great time to catch up on gaming and/or try out new games! What are you playing this weekend now that you have two extra days? As for me, I have an ambitious lineup of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw, Splatterhouse, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom (if it arrives in time), Enslaved, and WordFeud for Android.

Pokemon Black/White Starters English Names Revealed

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have revealed the names of the Pokemon Black and Pokemon White starters! The grass starter is Snivy, the fire starter (not “Firestarter“) is Tepig, and the water starter is Oshawott. I can’t wait to meet them!

Anyone Else Alarmed By What’s Going on in Korea?

While you were sleeping, North Korea launched more than 200 artillery shells at South Korea. Each side has claimed that the other shot first (What is this? Han and Greedo?). Here’s more on the situation from MSNBC.

Anyone else really scared about this brewing situation? Despite its claims of being able to refine uranium for nuclear weapons, North Korea is mostly harmless to Americans…but when you bring China and Iran into the mix then a new “Axis of Evil” seems ready to…do whatever evil things evil axis do.

Obviously I’m concerned because I have family and friends in various part of Asia, but North Korea can wreak havoc in the region and reshape the world — physically, politically, and economically. All it takes is one crazy man (or his son) pushing a button and the world will be changed forever.

Due to his atypical background, The Miz had to work extra hard to get a top spot in the WWE; some people resented that he didn’t pay his dues in the traditional way and made things difficult for him. Through hard work, continuous improvement in the ring, and extraordinary mic skills, The Miz has made it to the top — WWE Champion and the cover of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011!

How do you think he’ll do as WWE Champion? Will he be a strong enough heel to lead a chasing face all the way to WrestleMania? Or will he be a transitional champion? Will his incredible promos retain their edge now that he’s not chasing the prize? Or will he be better than ever now that he can gloat to the entire WWE roster?
