What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I got back from Hawaii this week and it’s off to Asia next week. Unfortunately, I won’t have any time for console games this weekend. There’s too much work and laundry to be done before takeoff. I will be playing lots of Heroes of Dragon Age on my iPhone 5. Yesterday, I posted a link to … Continue reading “What Are You Playing This Weekend?”

Vaping Diaries #122: Grand Vapor Gab Villapana Interview

As a Filipino-American, I was thrilled that Grand Vapor owner Gabriel “Gab” Villapana came all the way from the Philippines to attend ECC 2013. I’m a big fan of Grand Vapor mods and atomizers (currently rocking a red Sentinel 3.5 and a gold-plated Trident). Gab had several goods on display at the show — the … Continue reading “Vaping Diaries #122: Grand Vapor Gab Villapana Interview”

Pokemon Origins Trailer

Pokemon Origins is a four-part animated series that tells the old-school story of Pokemon Red/Blue. While many fans of the Pokemon cartoons known and love Ash Ketchum, fans of the original game have a special place in their hearts for Red. Almost 20 years after the original game’s release, Red finally gets center stage in Pokemon Origins. While … Continue reading “Pokemon Origins Trailer”

Watch Metallica Play “Enter Sandman” For Mariano Rivera

Watching Metallica play “Enter Sandman” for Mariano Rivera at Yankee Stadium was one of the few highlights for New York Yankee fans in 2013. Between the numerous injuries, mediocre play, A-Rod being an a-hole, and my dear Captain‘s perforated ankle, there hasn’t been a lot for Yankee fans to be happy about this season. The Mariano … Continue reading “Watch Metallica Play “Enter Sandman” For Mariano Rivera”

Vaping Diaries #111: Marie Alvarez ECC 2013 Interview

While I was filming an interview on the Vapor Bombz Omega, I noticed that my buddy Marie Alvarez was working at the booth. Naturally, I had to get her on camera for one of my favorite interviews of ECC 2013. Marie Alvarez is a model that has done a lot of work for vaping companies. … Continue reading “Vaping Diaries #111: Marie Alvarez ECC 2013 Interview”

Random Thoughts on The Newsroom Season 2, Episode 9

The Newsroom finale (seasons 2) wrapped up one season’s worth of intrigue and two seasons of romance in a single, neatly wrapped episode. Couples were joined, bold executive decisions were made, bad haircuts were explained, and more. In some ways, The Newsroom finale felt like it could wrap up the show for good. While HBO … Continue reading “Random Thoughts on The Newsroom Season 2, Episode 9”

This Week’s Videogame Releases

Grand Theft Auto V will hit store shelves this week. That’s pretty much all you need to know, right? Rockstar’s latest GTA will be one of the biggest games of 2013, if not the biggest. If you’re late to the PlayStation 3 party, you can pick up the GTAV PS3 500GB bundle. If open-world hyper-violence isn’t … Continue reading “This Week’s Videogame Releases”

Random Thoughts on The Newsroom Season 2, Episode 8

Last night’s episode of The Newsroom was vintage Aaron Sorkin (read that sentence as if WWE Michael Cole said it). The tension at the ACN newsroom was palpable. It was election night, which is like the Super Bowl, the World Series, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo for newsies. The Operation Genoa lawsuits (yes, multiple) added … Continue reading “Random Thoughts on The Newsroom Season 2, Episode 8”

Coffee Talk #599: When Wrestling Used Real Music

There’s a whole generation of pro-wrestling fans that have no idea that wrestlers made their entrances set to popular music. That used to be one of my favorite aspects of pro-wrestling. There were certain guys that I liked or hated because I liked or hated their entrance music. These days, the vast majority of pro-wrestling entrance themes are in-house creations (with most WWE songs being penned by Jim Johnston). Back in the ’70s and ’80s, wrestlers  (and management) picked popular songs that felt appropriate for their characters. Instead of paying for music licenses, the WWF/WWE started writing in-house songs that they could sell. It makes total sense on a business level, but I still miss wrestlers using…continued

Get Your Snooki Couture by Nicole Polizzi Headphones

The press release for the Snooki Couture by Nicole Polizzi line of headphones and accessories is easily the best press release I’ve received this month and one of the best I’ve received all year. I love that the pitch uses Snooki, fashion, and Walgreens in the first sentence, because nothing says high-fashion like Walgreens. Ha! … Continue reading “Get Your Snooki Couture by Nicole Polizzi Headphones”
