To keep the RPadTV database nice and tidy, I’ve decided to go through old WordPress user accounts and delete the fake ones. Account spam is an annoying WordPress problem, even for small websites. Over the years, RPadTV has accumulated hundreds of thousands of spam users. Since the site now uses Disqus, 99.9% of the accounts serve no purpose. Still, I wanted to keep some of the originals for nostalgia. For the most part, I kept most of the OG RPadholics in the Great Purge of 2019. A few were hastily deleted (sorry Big Blak and Redtailman!). Check out the screenshot above to remember some old friends and to see how quickly you registered an RPadTV account.

RPadTV Invitational Miami 2018 (Man City, Medianoche)
The first ever IRL RPadTV Invitational was this past weekend. It featured copious amounts of Johnny Walker Blue, a thrilling victory by Manchester City, medianachos medianoches, a silly amount of Pokemon Go, and so much more. It was one of the best weekends I’ve had in years and even better than I was expecting, all thanks to you RPadholics.
You’d think that seeing Man City live for the first time, watching my second-favorite player Bernardo Silva (the second-best Silva on the team!) score two goals, and experiencing a come-from-behind victory over the evil Bayern Munich would’ve been the highlights of the trip, but they weren’t. The game was phenomenal, don’t get me wrong, but my favorite part of the trip was spending time with RPadholics Iceman, Tokz, and BSUkenyan. As far as I know, this was the first time that more than two of us have met up…and it was frickin’ awesome!

Bookmark Me at Vaping360 (Please)!
As many of you know, I’ve taken an expanded role at Vaping360. The vast majority of my vaping content — articles and videos — will end up on that site. There will be an odd sprinkling of vaping articles on RPadTV every now and again, but if you want to keep up with my latest vaping content then please bookmark my Vaping360 author page. Vaping360 is already a major player in the vaping world, but in the immortal words of Bachman Turner Overdrive, “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet.” The site has some huge plans for 2016, including the relaunch of its YouTube channel (featuring me!). As someone that writes for the site and reads lots of articles by other writers, I’m tremendously excited by the site’s evolution. So please, please, please keep up with my Vaping360 adventures.
Wismec Controversy & Giant E-Liquid Bottles on Vaping 360!
Here’s a pair of articles I recently wrote for Vaping 360. The first is a look at the trend of 60ml and 120ml bottles at retail vape shops. With many vapers using sub-ohm tanks and high-wattage box-mods, e-liquid consumption is higher than ever. For some vapers, 15ml bottles are no longer cutting it. Longtime e-liquid makers are moving to 30ml bottles and larger. There are even some companies that are skipping those sizes and only using 60ml or 120ml bottles. People from The Vapor Spot, Vapor Land, Boilermaker Vapor, Jiu Jit Juice, Vape One Twenty, and Vape Breakfast Classics were interviewed for this article.
The second piece is a look at issues with the Wismec Reuleaux RX200 and third-party atomizers. A friend of mine pointed me to a Reddit thread on the Reuleaux RX200 not playing well with the Smok TFV4. Both products are very popular and it’s unfortunate that some vapers are having issues with the combination. The 510 connection on the Reuleaux RX200 is relatively short, while the 510 connection on the TFV4 is relatively long. This can cause the spring-loaded pin of the device to bottom out, essentially bricking it. The kicker is that using the Reuleaux RX200 with third-party atomizers voids the warranty.
Anyway, please check out both of those articles when you have a chance. It was fun for me to do a bit of vaping jarnalism journalism.
February Handcheck at Vaping 360
Hello vaping friends! Kindly do me a favor and check out this “February Handcheck!” article at Vaping 360. It’s a rundown of the setups five members of the Vaping 360 team (myself included) have been using. It would be spectacular if you could post a handcheck photo of your vaping setup and write a bit about it in the comments section of the article. So please, Please, PLEASE click on the link above when you have a chance.
Meanwhile, At Vaping 360…
When you have a chance, please check out my Janty article on Vaping 360. The piece is about how Janty had the opportunity to be first-to-market with a temperature-control box-mod. Vaping historians know Janty as the inventors of the original eGo e-cigarette and the RY4 e-liquid. While the company isn’t as prominent as it used to be, it should still be respected as a leader and innovator. That said, the company appears to have missed a tremendous opportunity with temperature-control box-mods. Kindly read the full story for all the details.
Monster Vape Lounge Anniversary Party
My excellent friend DJ Dirte and I will be hosting Monster Vape Lounge’s two-year anniversary party. Dirte will be spinning and we’ll both be on microphones. Expect a fun time featuring the most outstanding two-man comedy act Silver Lake and the vaping world has ever seen! More seriously though, I wanted to do something a bit different with this event. Most SoCal vape events are dominated by cloud contests and trick competitions. While those can definitely be fun, they can also exclude many of the people that attend events. I wanted to do something more inclusive and feature vape games everyone can play. With this in mind, the Monster Vape Lounge two-year anniversary party will have dry-hit challenges and vapor roulette throughout the day.
Dry-Hit Challenges: These are one-on-one contests where two vapers blow clouds at each other, up close and personal. The person that coughs first loses! Here’s a video example.
Vapor Roulette: In this parlor game, a vaper picks a tank and has to take a ten-second pull without coughing. One of the tanks will have 0mg e-liquid in it and the other will have 18mg e-liquid in it. (I’m also thinking about an 18mg cinnamon flavored e-liquid too for, you know, comedic purposes.)
The best part is that everyone that participates in these contests will win prizes!
Again, cloud contests and trick competitions are fun — big parts of what makes the SoCal vape community so interesting. I just wanted to try something different and try to include everyone in the festivities. Also, it’s fun watching people blow vapor at each other’s faces and freak out after vaping 18mg e-liquid.
RPadTV Teams Up With VapeCon International
I’m excited to announce that RPadTV is the official media partner for VapeCon International. The company has several upcoming vaping conventions in the works. In January 2016, VapeCon International will be hosting events in Shelton, Washington (near Seattle) and Riverside, California. In April 2016, the show will be hosting in Shenzhen, China. If everything goes as planned, RPadTV will have lots of excellent content from all of the aforementioned shows, as well as future VCI events.
I hope to see you at a VCI event! For now, kindly do me a favor and follow VapeCon International on Instagram.
Monday Housekeeping: Disqus Returns!
I’ve switched back to the Disqus commenting system. While the WordPress Jetpack commenting system looked promising, it failed on multiple levels. It wouldn’t allow comment nesting and in a few cases it ate your comments. I apologize to any of you that wrote long comments and had them obliterated by WordPress Jetpack. While I have some issues with Disqus, I know that it works and many people love it. So kindly dust off your Disqus accounts and leave a comment below to make sure this thing works with the current RPadTV theme.
A few notes:
- I’m importing newer comments as I type. Hopefully the import will go smoothly and will finish by the end of the day.
- I have disabled Disqus’ cookie tracking, just in case you have any privacy concerns. To double up, I recommend going into your Disqus account to make sure you’re opted out of the company’s additional tracking.
Download and Play PickSix For iOS (Please)
Okay, dear RPadholics. I need you guys and gals to do me a favor. At your earliest convenience, kindly download PickSix for iOS. I don’t ask you for a lot (possibly untrue), but I would love for you to check out this app (certainly true). PickSix is a fun and simple fantasy pick ’em game with all sorts of possibilities. Currently, you can bet on NFL and League of Legends games, but the content opportunities are tremendous. It’s easy to envision PickSix used for the Oscars, the 2016 US presidential election, Premiere League, the MTV VMAs, etc.
In some ways, the extensibility of PickSix reminds me of the versatility of QuizUp. They both use a simple core mechanic to extend the fun of existing events by adding an interactive social layer to the mix. Similarly, both apps can be used for a wide variety of topics. Whether it’s a small group of friends or the millions of people enjoying a particular event, PickSix can make anything more fun through gamification. Of course, I want to hear about the content you’d like to see on PickSix, but before we get to that, I need to share my nerdy idea.
I’d love to see WWE PPVs on PickSix. The cards are usually set the week before the event and it would be fun betting on sports entertainment. I’m going to use the last WWE PPV, “Night of Champions,” as an example of what a WWE PickSix looks like in my (silly) head.
1) Out of the five WWE championships being contested at “Night of Champions,” how many will change hands?
- 0-1
- 2-3
- 4-5
2) Who will win the WWE Divas Championship match?
- Charlotte
- Nikki Bella
- No Contest
3) Seth Rollins is defending two championships. What will his “Night of Champions” record be?
- 0-2
- 1-1
- 2-0
4) How many “Night of Champions” matches will end in a disqualification?
- 0-2
- 2-4
- 5-7
5) How will Ryback vs. Kevin Owens end?
- Ryback retains Intercontinental Championship
- Kevin Owens wins Intercontinental Championship
- Disqualification or schmoz
6) How many tables will be broken during The Dudley Boyz vs. New Day match?
- 0-2
- 2-4
- 5 or more
(On a side note, my friend Kate says that I would use my WWE contacts to…influence PPV outcomes. I assure you that I have no such power and if I did, I wouldn’t use it that way.)
Obviously I didn’t give these questions too much thought, but I think you get the idea that PickSix can work for all kinds of things. Now it’s your turn! If you’re an iOS-using RPadholic, please download the game. I fully expect you to challenge me to some betting. Irrespective of your mobile OS, I’d love to hear about the content you’d like to see on PickSix. Please leave a comment below with your excellent ideas.
