Playing Games on United Airlines’ In-Flight Entertainment Center

Here are a bunch of photos of the gaming options in United Airlines’ in-flight entertainment centers (business class). Sure, it’s not the same as playing on your Nintendo DS or PlayStation Portable, but these games can help kill a few hours on a long flight. I’m pretty sure I spent two hours on poker alone. Ha!

Check out the games and let me know which games you would play.

  1. Do they make you pay to play? If not I could spend a whole lot of time playing those Pop Cap games.

  2. Never mind I guess in flight means it comes with it price of admission, I've only been a plane once and it was on 9/9/01. We went to Disney World and we going to leave on 9/12 but we got stuck in FL for a day or so because of the attacks in NY. I'm not afraid to fly though its just been a long while lol.

  3. @big blak

    I haven't been on a plane for 18 years so I can imagine myself to be scared to ride a plane lol

  4. I would definitely be logging some hours on a DS if I had one. My iPod touch would not hold me over, the games are not good enough on length to play for an extended period of time.

    Have fun with the super secret project, Ray.

  5. i would probably play bowling, poker, bejeweled, word scramble and the trivia one if i didn't take my DS.

  6. When you lost a hand in poker, did you have to pay up in real money to United? House always wins, you know.

  7. Maybe I'm just dumb but one you click on the pictures how do you get out of them? I couldn't find and 'X' or 'close', 'ESC' didn't work. I had to reload the page.

  8. @Slicky;

    I had the same problem a while back when I clicked on some other pictures for the first time. All you have to do is put your cursor over the image and left-click your mouse.

    … I don't know. I'm so confused.

    No, seriously, I'm about halfway through it (I think) and it's kind of a one-trick pony as far as gameplay goes, but the real reason to play it is for the story. It's like playing a Stephen King book in game form, only more mystery thriller and less horror. Honestly, though, I can't put the game down because I want to know what happens next. The only other way I can describe it so far is a cross between Stephen King, Twin Peaks, The Twilight Zone, and X-Files. I'll let you know what I think after I beat the game and possibly play through it again another time.

    I was unsure about Alan Wake before, but after hearing so many people compare it to something similar to Stephen King's work I just might have to play through it purely for the story (ok maybe some achievements later on, but 90% for the story).

  11. @Iceman

    That's what I didn't like about the game. I am a huge King fan and the story to me was too close to a novel King penned. I felt that the best part of the game was robbed from me since the gameplay itself was merely an afterthought compared to the narrative.

  12. @Smartguy;

    Which Stephen King title does it remind you of? I've only read a few of his books, but none remind me of this game. It does, however, remind me of an episode of The Twilight Zone.

    It also is quite reminiscent of the plot twists that occur in book 5 or 6 of the dark tower series King wrote. That's all I'm gonna say.

  14. @BB

    most definitely.

    On a different note I have been home all day waiting on my AC guy to show up, it went out last night, and luckily it wasn't very expensive to replace it. I now am running it at 60 just on principle. Not too mention it was getting hot.

    My gf also got back from the Vet a few minutes ago with our dog. I had never seen a dog with a plastic shield around their neck until now.

  15. @ SG

    Neither have I, I bet that's gotta be fun for all of y'all. WHO DAT PATS!!! lol

    lets get it started in Preseason haha!

  16. @BB

    Brady and Moss are gonna be tough this season. I think the Jets will finish 3rd in that division. (sorry Thundercracker, Bills might surprise though).

  17. @smartguy

    you are crazy…bills win that division by at least 4 games

    man, do you even watch football?

    seriously, im not even sure the bills could win the big 10

  18. @Thundercracker

    I think I will take Spiller as a steal though. He's all they have. Plus i think he's gonna be good.

  19. i think hes a great player, they just dont have anyone to BLOCK for him, we'll be better next year after we draft jake locker from washington with the first overall pick

  20. @thundercracker

    I think there will be some free agents available next year as well. Only way to go is up from where they are though.

  21. @ SG & Thunder

    Brady to Welker is the heart of the team and his back up 2nd yr player Addleman is pretty good as well. It also looks like they will have some decent running game this season. The Saints are going to be tough as long as the whole team doesn't get cocky and comfortable. As for the Bills, I think they might get to number 3 because I feel the Jets will catch some injuries and will self implode because they will not have the same success they had last season. Spiller is a beast I hope he stays healthy or the Bills pick up some blockers.

  22. i dont really think we are the WORST team in the nfl, but in that division, yeah

    @big blak

    sorry to correct you, but that douchebag's name is julian EDELMAN–god damn i hate the patriots

  23. hey, I'm Planning on flying to new york this Christmas, and i was wondering if these games

    are also available in economy class?

    or is it only in business. because when you go on the United website, they aren't very clear on this information.

    thanks,

    Stefan
