Amazon is wisely pushing the excellent Heavy Rain as its “Deal of the Day”. It’s a high-profile game that also works with PlayStation Move. With or without Sony’s motion controller, this is an excellent game — one of the most memorable titles I’ve played all year — at a good price.

PSA: Free WiFi at Starbucks Starts Tomorrow
Here’s a friendly reminder that starting July 1, unlimited WiFi access at Starbucks coffeehouses in America and Canada will be free. Previously, customers were limited to two free hours that required some goofy login. The new scheme is unlimited and only requires one click to get things going.
While I’m not a big fan of Starbucks coffee (I don’t hate it. I just find it average.), I think it’s cool that the company is offering free WiFi to its customers. I’m sure that the unlimited WiFi will be problematic in places like San Francisco, where’s there’s a high nerds-per-square-inch ratio. Someone will gather a group of friends, start torrenting GBs of data, slowing down speeds for everyone else as they cackle at their prank. Hmmmm, I wonder what my LA freelancer friends are doing tomorrow….
PSA: Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 on Sale for $36.99

PSA: BlizzCon Tickets on Sale Tonight
Here’s a friendly reminder that tickets for BlizzCon 2010 go on sale tonight at 7PM Pacific Time. If it’s anything like the past few years, tickets will sell out fast. If you’re on the fence, I suggest buying tickets anyway. You can always get rid of them later. Anyone planning on going?
Amazon Offering PS3 Game Bundles with Dual Shock 3 Controller
Need an extra Dual Shock 3 and want a great game to go with it? In the immortal words of Sally Struthers, “Sure, we all do!” Amazon has these great bundles which include one game and a Dual Shock 3 for $59.99. You can choose from LittleBigPlanet, InFamous, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2.
Warner Bros. Lets You Trade Your DVDs for Blu-Ray Discs
Rpadholic tokz_21 sent in this nifty link on Warner Bros. DVD2Blu program, which allows you to trade in your old DVDs for Blu-ray discs for as low as $4.95 per movie. Here’s the skinny from CNet:
Customers can go to the site and select the movies they want to upgrade. From there, they need only to send the DVD version of the movie they currently own to the service. Within “four to five weeks,” Warner Bros. ships the Blu-ray copy of the film back to the customer. Pricing for individual movies starts at $4.95 per movie — a relative bargain compared to buying the Blu-ray version in stores.
There are some pretty excellent movies available in the promotion, but there are also “winners” like Beerfest, Constantine, and Under Siege 2. I actually have a bunch of the movies on the list and will try out the program soon. In the immortal words of Jerry Maguire, “Who’s coming with me?!?”
