CM Punk Gets Restraining Order Against His Mom

According to TMZ, WWE Superstar CM Punk has obtained a restraining order against his mother. Punk’s mother has allegedly hit him up for tens of thousands of dollars, threatened to commit suicide unless given money, and threatened to release embarrassing information about her son unless she was given dough. On paper, it sounds like a sad … Continue reading “CM Punk Gets Restraining Order Against His Mom”

Coffee Talk #592: Dragon Age Inquisition — What’s in a Name?

EA recently changed the name of Dragon Age III: Inquisition to Dragon Age: Inquisition. EA president Frank Gibeau explained the name change to IGN, saying, “We just wanted to draw more attention to the fact that Inquisition is an all-new chapter inside of the Dragon Age universe, as opposed to people expecting a follow-on to Dragon Age 1 and 2 in a literal, linear sense.” Never mind that the E3 2013 trailer for the game featured characters from the first two games. Never mind that the third game was supposed to unite the Hero of Ferelden (Dragon Age: Origins), the Champion of Kirkwall (Dragon Age II), and That Really Nice Guy From Antiva (my Dragon Age fan fiction). This is…more

Random Thoughts on NBA Finals Game Seven

Congratulations to RPadholic and longtime Miami Heat season ticket holder 1ceman for his team’s 2012-2013 NBA Championship. While the level of play wasn’t as high as it was in game six, the drama and excitement were fantastic. There were many times when it looked like the Heat were going to run away with the game, but … Continue reading “Random Thoughts on NBA Finals Game Seven”

Coffee Talk #582: EA + LucasArts = ???

In case you’ve been living under a rock (a common occurrence in the Dagobah System), The Walt Disney Company and EA have entered into a multi-year licensing agreement that allows the latter to publish Star Wars games. BioWare, DICE, and Visceral will be the EA studios handling the upcoming games. It’s been lots of fun reading and listening to reactions on the deal. Some of them are just…crazy. Some people are acting like Disney handed over the rights to Star Wars to a legion of baby seal killers that hunt whales and burn down rain forests on the side…more

Coffee Talk #581: Your Favorite TV Show of All Time

In the decades that you’ve been alive, I’m sure you’ve watched thousands of hours of television. Out of all the shows you’ve enjoyed, what’s your all-time favorite? I’d love to hear about it, since it reveals something about you and your past. There’s no judging here. If RPaholic bigblak loves Cop Rock then he loves Cop Rock.

It took me a while to pare down my list. As with any form of entertainment, it’s easy to focus on newer things, while old ones often don’t get the credit that they deserve. In the end, the choice was clear…more

Random Thoughts on Iron Man 3

After an action-packed ensemble adventure in The Avengers, Iron Man gets the stage to himself once more in Iron Man 3. The movie is definitely fun, but not as good as the first two Iron Man movies or The Avengers. Director Shane Black adds more humor and snark while retaining the awesome mech-fueled action of … Continue reading “Random Thoughts on Iron Man 3”

Vaping Diaries #46: Vapor4Life Vapor Zeus Preview

I haven’t used a cig-alike (vaping devices that look like tobacco cigarettes) in a long time. As some of you know, I started out with V2 e-cigs (still RPadholic N8R’s favorites) but have moved onto bigger and more complicated devices. One of the reasons that I found the upcoming Vapor4Life Vapor Zeus so intriguing is that … Continue reading “Vaping Diaries #46: Vapor4Life Vapor Zeus Preview”

Netflix Movie Catch Up Time!

Over the weekend, I caught up on a bunch of movies I’ve been meaning to see. All three featured protagonists that are old and washed up. I’m hoping that the choices were a coincidence, but I fear that these movies reflect my current state of mind. Ha! Anyway, here are a bunch of thoughts on Skyfall, Indiana … Continue reading “Netflix Movie Catch Up Time!”

Mortal Kombat Legacy Season 2 Trailer

Here’s the trailer for the second season of Mortal Kombat Legacy. Fans of the MK universe will be thrilled to see several returning characters accompanied by new ones. The real star of the show is Casper Van Dien, of course. The Starship Troopers legend plays an older and grizzled Johnny Cage. While I have no idea … Continue reading “Mortal Kombat Legacy Season 2 Trailer”
