GameStop will be giving away some extremely awesome Pokemon in January and February 2011 — shiny versions of the legendary beasts Entei, Raikou, and Suicune! Getting legendary Pokemon for free is awesome. Getting shiny versions — super rare variants that use a different color set — is complete radness. Here are the dates:
- Raikou — January 3 to January 9
- Entei — January 17 to January 23
- Suicune — January 31 to February 6
You will need your Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver cartridges, a free Wonder Card slot, and Pokedex access to download these legendary Pokemon. Getting a Pokemon that has starred in television and movies is cool, but a shiny legendary?!? That’s brilliant stuff!
Also, these legendary beasts are cats, not dogs. I hate when people refer to them as dogs. Translate the words “rai” and “kou” before you mistakenly call Raikou a dog.
Wonder Card slot? O_o
Each super rare or event pokemon has a wonder card attached to it. There is a limit to the number of cards you can have. Those a limit on how many of these rare pokemon you can have.
what is the limit on that? Since I missed my chance to get my first Mew before, I have never heard of the wonder card slot.

You can have three at a time, but you need to get rid of one if you want to accept another.

Gotcha. Is there any other way to authenticate the event pokemon once the wonder card is deleted? It seems like that would be useful to have, and makes me curious as to why they only allow you to keep three wc's. I don't know a lot about the event pokemon though so maybe the answer is simple once I actually see the process.
Event Pokemon have a unique id, a special ribbon, and a specific trainer name. Everything can be hacked, of course.
Just got my Raikou on my Pearl, Diamond, and HeartGold cartridges. Now I'm soft resetting on HeartGold to try and get better natures/IV's.
Did that unlock Zoruark for you? I'm going to pick mine up later today.
Zoroark doesn't unlock until these are transferred to Black or White from what I have read about it. I thought before that you needed all three to unlock him, but I've also read you only need one of them. We will just have to wait and see for sure.
Also, in addition to the three legendary beasts and ash's pikachu, there is also supposed to be a Celebi event at Gamestop around the same time the last legendary beast is being given away.
But Entei looks like a dog and Suicune looks like a deer O_o
They do look like dogs more than they do cats. Also, the three legendary dogs sounds much better than the three legendary cats, IMO.
