Welcome to Coffee Talk! Let’s start off the day by discussing whatever is on your (nerd chic) mind. Every morning I’ll kick off a discussion and I’m counting on you to participate in it. If you’re not feelin’ my topic, feel free to start a chat with your fellow readers and see where it takes you. Whether you’re talking about videogames,whether you give a damn about the Winter Olympic Games, Degeneration X breaking up, or Spider-Man in 3D, Coffee Talk is the place to do it.
You asked for it and you’ve got it! Here are the nominees for the Superman 64 Awards for worst game of the decade!!! After sorting through your initial picks, I’ve selected eight offenders for your voting pleasure. So make your choice and tell everyone why you selected the game you did (please)!

I put my vote in for Big Rigs, not from playing it, but from the mass amount of feedback that everyone gave to it. Jumper was a close second, and honestly, if both of these games end up buried in the desert next to ET, we'll all be better off.
Can I write in terminator salvation
big rigs was released in 03 though.
vote goes to Haze
Oh my… that list gives me a headache just looking at it.
I'm gonna need some time before I cast a vote.
I just mentioned this elsewhere but I am really enjoying Bioshock 2. loads of fun that game.
I've also come to accept that beating ME2 on 'Insanity' is the only achievement I'll be missing on that one. I had no trouble with crushing on uncharted or hardened on CODMW2 but Mass Effect 2 is tough
Even though i nominated Ju On and Saw. I voted for Big Rigs. The gameplay vids are just horrible compared to the grudge and saw.
@Shockwave – yeah I think it might take me a while to work up to Insanity as well.
@Larcenous – After beating the game on normal twice I figured I'd give it a go with my level 28 solider. I can't even beat the first mission with Miranda and Jacob.
My favorite scene in Bioshock 2 so far (no spoilers i don't think) is when you're being attacked by waves of splicers and "how much is that doggy in the window" is playing on a radio. it's very funny and enjoyable.
@ME2 Insanity
I hate four legged enemies.
@Sandrock – those are the damn things that keep taking me out on the first mission. The 4 legged robots rush toward you and they're a B to take down
I have to vote for Wet by default because it's the only one of those horrid games that found it's way into one of my consoles. Although I hear Rogue Warrior was truly horrific.
@Shockwave562
I'm an Adapt too, so I can't do anything to them until their armor is gone.
FYI, Gamespot's "video review" of Big Riggs may be the best thing I've ever seen.
Uh it's a toss up between Haze and Wet. Haze b/c my husband thought it would be fun, then took it back after several days. Neither one of us could finish the Wet demo before turning it off in bored disgust. The rest, well I stayed away from for obvious reasons :P
@Sandrock – ya that's pretty rough, I have armor piercing rounds but it would be really helpful to have Mordin and his incinerate tech for those guys
@Sandrock – drop some points into Warp, it's the adept equivlant of fire.
@LarcenousLaugh
I've maxed it, but I went for aoe instead of dps. Really regretting that now.
Ya I'm not to fond of any of the area of effect skills. more power I say!
@Shockwave: I don't know man, the area effect shockwave (no relation) power is pretty effin' sweet.
@Nightshade- I can't say I've seen it in action but once I level Jack up enough I may keep that in mind. funny video by the way. I was sort of hoping he was going to drop the computer out of a window
Area effect Shockwave moves in a wide line, so especially in narrow areas like the bridge between Dantius Towers on Illium, it's like bowling for mercs.
AoE Combustion Shot is pretty sweet too, especially against groups of husks.
the husks are another reason insanity will be pretty hard to complete. The game wouldn't be so hard if you didn't have enemies like those charging at you (probably why Uncharted 2 and CODMW2 aren't that tough). The Krogan like to charge when they get weak too. running away from a group of husks is almost infuriating at times, especially if they surround you. the player movement in the game could be a little better.
@Shockwave: Husks are very weak against area effect biotics….
found a good insanity guide, funny too. spoilers if you haven't beaten the game

Ign's heavy rain review is up, and it is good
I like aoe more than dps, but warp's aoe effect only kicks in when another biotic power is affecting the target. Also, husks are fun to kill as an adapt. Throw has a 3 sec recharge and instant kills them. Husk synchronized air swimming anyone? (I bet they have armor on insanity, just to piss me off)
PSA:
Halo: Reach beta begins May 3rd, 2010.
Big Rigs. At least all the other games were trying to be a game.
-M
got to give it to big rigs, at least the other games had some effort
big rigs, even though it wasnt a mainstream game…so bad
also, i was first to nominate big rigs
ray what did you think of the heavy rain demo?
im downloading it now!!
@thundercracker
Yes you were, and I couldn't believe how crappy that game is until I watched the videos. I think my favorite gaffe is the unlimited reverse speed. Amazing.
i know youve watched a ton of videos on big rigs, but this is the best one
check out number 2 at about 25 seconds in…its worth it
youre winner!
sorry you might need that
Pure gold colored crap.
first impressions on heavy rain
graphically, ive seen nothing better, i think it looks better than uncharted
i wish i didnt have to go to work now….
