By the time you read this, LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation Portable will be available for download through Sony’s PlayStation Network. This is arguably the biggest digital download debut for the platform (I’m not counting retro titles).
The original game for PS3 was critically lauded and received tons of awards, though its commercial success didn’t match its accolades. I’m curious to see how the PSP version will perform as a digital download. It will be an interesting barometer of how receptive PSP gamers are to doing digital. Furthermore, I want to see if this style of game can succeed on a handheld platform.
Are any of you going to by LBP for PSP? Do you think it can do well on the platform? I’d love for it to be uber-successful, but I have my doubts.
I am glad you brought up the PSP. I was in Best Buy the other day and they finally put out a {S{ Go on display. Wow that thing is Way too small. It was awkward to hold (partly due to being bolted done solid) I didn't get to hold it or slide it but it didn't seem to justify the price. I think I'll end up buying another Fat PSP. And then I'd LPBP for it.
i don't see how this game translates well to the psp. For one, the game was supposedly only possible on the PS3. So if specific conventions from that version were eliminated or modified to be possible on the considerably less powerful system…what fun is it? Also, didn't you need both analog sticks when creating things???
I bought LBP shortly after launch….I didn't care for the platforming style it used. Not saying it was a bad game, just didn't think it was that great.
I'm so hoping this game does well, I love the one for my PS3 and have put countless hours into it. The story was quick and easy, but I haven't run out of lvls that people have made lol. The multiplayer made it even better. So yeah in short, I wanna see this work. Otherwise I'll keep ranting xD!
