It’s interesting and disappointing to see that the new releases carry the same prices as their retail counterparts. With shipping, retail, and other costs eliminated, you’d think that you might be able to save a buck or two on a game. On a positive note (especially for PSPgo owners), it’s nice to see third-party publishers making PSP games available for digital download the same week they hit stores.
With a new PSP game, would you rather have the UMD (complete with the box and instruction manual) or would you opt for the convenience of a digital download?
At that price I'll take a hard copy over a digital any day. I seriously think Sony pulled the trigger too soon on the PSPgo, digital distribution isn't that big yet. Not too many are willing to pay 39.99 for a digital copy a game.
I'd rather have the physical copy if they cost the same price. Those digital copies should be almost fifty percent cheaper.
Now the greed begins. (cue evil laughter)
I don't have a PSP or a PSPGo but if they were the same price then i would rather have the physical media. The price for a direct download should be cheaper especially since the stores don't have to make their profit from the game as well. I don't think they want to succeed in the portable gaming market.
