2026 is going to be an absolutely crazy year for nerd television – so much so that it was a challenge choosing the most anticipated TV shows of 2026. Thankfully, videogame industry veterans MacLean Marshall and Marcus Beer joined me to share the television series they’re looking forward to the most. For the record, my top three picks were:
- Ted Lasso Season 4 – A new season of one of my all-time favorite shows??? Yes please!!!
- Lanterns Season 1 – Green Lantern was one of my favorite comics during grade school and high school. I’m hoping this series makes me forget all about that garbage Ryan Reynolds movie.
- Ahsoka Season 2 – As a massive Star Wars: Rebels fan, I can’t wait to see more of Ezra, Sabine, Hera, and Chopper. Hopefully there’s more Zeb this season too. I know it’s Ahsoka’s name on the title card, but I’m here for the Rebels awesomeness.

…I’ve been absolutely enamored with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. I love the book and the graphic novel. Seeing it in live-action – with some notable additions and changes – is very cool.
Wonder Man was also excellent, but definitely not for everyone. It’s a bit smarter than most Marvel television series and not really a superhero show at all. It’s a character-driven story about a struggling actor in Los Angeles that happens to have superpowers. The writing and acting were fantastic, but I don’t think we’ll see content like this from Disney for a long time; the company appears focused on attracting mainstream audiences, while Wonder Man is more for comics nerds.
