For years, I’ve been telling anyone that would listen that Olivia Munn is pretty much the worst person alive today. Although her popularity is booming, more and more people are starting to realize the truth about Olivia Munn — she’s a horrendous human being. The latest news comes from The Golden Lasso, that bravely pointed out how The Newsroom actress lied about doing her own stunts. The succubus has been making the media rounds promoting X-Men: Apocalypse and told reporters, “It was important to me that I was able to do all of the stunts.” The only problem is that she had a highly capable stunt double.
I strongly recommend checking out The Golden Lasso article for the full details on Olivia Munn’s big lie and information on the amazing stunt actress (Julia Rekaikyna) that was denied credit. I’ll use the rest of this space to reinforce what you should already know — Olivia Munn is wretched.
First, it’s appalling that she tried to take credit for someone else’s work and pretended to be something she’s not. That said, most people I know that worked with her at G4tv would say that’s typical behavior for Munn. In her G4tv days, she pretended to be an uber-nerd in order to make herself more appealing. Now she’s pretending to be an acrobatic sword master in order to make her seem like a legitimate action star.
As my pal Cliff Bleszinski noted, “Folks, Olivia Munn is a bad person. She is the embodiment of appropriating nerd culture and using it for her gain. Don’t trust her.” That tweet is bursting with accuracy and wisdom.
If you’re a proud male heterosexual nerd or a proud female homosexual nerd then please, please, please don’t be fooled by Olivia Munn. While she’s physically attractive and can be an entertaining actress, she’s simply a terrible person that’s trying to take advantage of your awesome nerdiness. In the immortal words of Public Enemy, “Don’t believe the hype!”
[Special thanks to my excellent friends Tom and Tricia for making me aware of this instance of Olivia Munn being awful!]
Cliff Bleszinski is a douche bag so I’m inclined to side with Munn here.
Blasphemer!!!
You meant truth speaker right?
So you believe Olivia Munn does all her own stunts? Do you also believe that she is a nerd?
I’m simply choosing the lesser of 2 evils. I’m well aware that she is exaggerating here.
I could care less if she was a nerd.
Saying you could care less means you do care. Ewwwww.
I’ll still do her, stunts or no stunts.
While I completely agree with Cliffy B’s statement here, I can’t help but think that it’s all for naught. It seems like for the past 5-7 years that sentiment has surrounded her, and yet she is still getting work and rising in popularity. I just think it simply doesn’t matter to enough people, or the people who are causing her rise in popularity don’t care about that issue, “nerd culture”, or the gaming community at large.
…or her agents and PR people are outstanding.
I’m surprised you din’t just call her a “munnster” outright.
It’s clear that she’s “Oblivias” to what she says.
When you get paid that kind of Munny for your looks, you’re allowed to get away with saying stupid things.
Olivia life how you wanna, and let her do the same.
That was the worst of your four puns. Ouch.
Yeah, I was running on fumes after the first three.
In all honesty, this is typical narcissistic behavior. Getting paid lots of money for appearing in front of a camera usually leads to people thinking that they are more important than they actually are.
If I was a totalitarian, I’d make it mandatory for all mirrors in green rooms to have a message of caution at the bottom (just like the passenger-side rear-view mirrors in cars): “Warning, object in mirror is not as awesome as they appear.”
I think a lot of people in our society are like this, but we just don’t hear about them all the time because they are not on TV or in movies. And let’s face it, I’m sure plenty of celebrities aren’t exactly the most educated people on the planet. This includes etiquette education and the type of internalization that recognizes how important the people around you are to your success (in any profession). Being humble is tough when you have a following of people who oogle at your boobies.
Still, I will err on the side of innocent ignorance and say that she did SOME basic stunt work like swing a sword and kick, or something (as mentioned in the article) so that when she was commenting about her stunt work, she was referring to that and not the dangerous, accident-prone wire-work and physical abuse that the stunt people do. This whole brouhaha could have been avoided if she just said “… It was important to me that I was able to do all of the little movements because the more believable it is, the better it is for the audience…” She could have just wanted to throw out Hollywood lingo to show that she is in “the biz” but it just came out all wrong and said “stunts” instead which changed the whole meaning of her sentiment.
And I will err on this side because she’s hot and can do nasty, dirty things to a sausage.
Not to mention the shit she’s done to her boyfriend and his family. or the bullying of a girl that called her average without tagging her in the tweet…olivia searched her own name and bullied a girl and told all her followers to tweet the girl and say the girl had a stupid face and resulted in people calling this 17 yr old girl a cunt to get attention from olivia. God she’s awful. used to like her but I just can’t after what I know about her now.
Thanks very much for the contribution! I was unaware of the Twitter situation. That’s unfortunate.
