What Are You Playing This Weekend?

If all goes as planned, I’ll be picking up my copy of WWE 13 from my friend at THQ tomorrow. I’m really excited to play this game. For a while, I was really worried about the series. I mean, how do you top the award-winning writing in Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 and 2011?!? One of the few ways to top those epic tales is to take actual storylines — with actual WWE television footage! — from the “Attude Era” and use them in an interactive way. They also got some guy named Paul Heyman to help out with the storylines. In addition to being one of the sharpest and most innovative thinkers in the pro-wrestling business, he’s almost as good a writer as those guys from SmackDown vs Raw 2010 and 2011! Almost.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

      1. You should have mentioned “free” earlier. I saw the trailer and downloaded the game. Now all I have to do is find the time to play.

      1. It can be argued that they didn’t know she would become this popular when the game was being developed. It can also be argued that it was a wisely greedy move.

      2. Her and Ryback are supposed to be free DLC (I think). Either way, I’ve seen pics of her playing with herself (I wish I didn’t mean it in the videogame context) so I know she’s DLC for sure.

      3. Attitude Era Superstars Pack (October 30th – Already Out)

Attitude Era Superstars Rikishi, Scotty 2 Hotty, Grand Master Sexay, Gangrel and Val Venis.

        WWE Superstars Pack (December 2012)

WWE Superstars Tensai, Ryback, Drew McIntyre and Yoshi Tatsu and WWE Divas AJ Lee and Natalya

Undertaker “Ministry of Darkness” alternate attire

Championship Title Pack: 10 new championships from WWE, WCW, ECW and AWA

You’re Welcome in Five Languages Pack (January 2013)

WWE Superstars Damien Sandow, Antonio Cesaro, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso and Attitude Era Legends Brian Pillman and Chainsaw Charlie
        WWE Diva Layla (free)

Moves Pack: 20 new moves, including the Lionsault made popular by Chris Jericho and the Kimura Lock made popular by Brock Lesnar

Now… I’m looking forward to Claudio as well.

  1. Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, which is turning out to be a really nice game. Swinging through the trees is even more fun than running the rooftops in Rome!

That, and I got to play Rayman Legends on Wii U, as well as Play Station All-Stars on PS Vita, both of which look promising. And I can officially say that I have no problem with the Wii U controller – I thought it’d be bulky and annoying, but it’s not half bad.
