What Are You Playing This Weekend?

After being away from home for almost two weeks, I’ve been reunited with my precious consoles. This weekend I plan on playing some Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD. I’m a pretty big mark for Oddworld Inhabitants and really want to see how this remake fares. I’m also addicted to Run Roo Run! by 5th Cell. The game is a simple platformer that’s structured like Angry Birds. It’s cute and charming, which is no surprise coming from the creators of Scribblenauts.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. Nfl Blitz and I've been thinking about playing Mafia 2 again. I'm going to get some practices time with MK before the big fight, and I may dust off Prey.

      1. I think you should set the day and time, I'm not getting anywhere. Every time I bring up the fight in the G+ chat it somehow turns into me ducking N8, even though I clearly say I'm ready whenever.

      2. Are you getting this, N8? How about you guys rumble this weekend? There's no football game and as far as I know, neither one of you are moving. Do either one of you guys have a capture card/device hooked up yet?

  2. The Sims 3. My wife is nagging me to start playing Gears 3 with her, but I want to try Portal 2 first.

I also still have the Robin Challenge Maps to do in Arkham City. I should do that soon before I get too rusty to beat N8's high scores.

  3. SWTOR and Mario 3D. Good thing I found a new mmo since Diablo 3 has essentially been scrapped to use Diablo 2 mechanics haha. You have to think someone is getting fired over this and soon.

  4. SWTOR and Skyrim. I played a bit of Skylanders, X-Men Destiny and Dead Island earlier this week. Dead Island and X-Men Destiny went right back into the Gamefly envelopes. IK'd have done the same thing with Skylanders if it hadn't come directly from Activision for review….which mean I HAVE to play it.

    1. Can you give me your thoughts on X-Men Destiny and Dead Island? I've heard nothing but bad things about X-men and a lot of mixed reviews for Dead Island.

      1. I loved Dead Island, just never got the time to pick it up again and keep playing it. I had a ton of fun playing though, but I think it was much better with at least one other person online with me.

      2. Dead Island….I'll be fair. I played it for 15 minutes. I'm just not feeling the whole Zombie thing. It's about as overplayed as WWII games used to be.

X-Men Destiny – Denis Dyack oughta be embarrassed that Silicon Knights put that game out. The gameplay, dialog, story….pretty much everything about it was far below mediocre. I gave it about an hour, and a friend of mine told me he beat it in four. So I could have probably beaten it in one setting, and put it back in the envelope instead. That pretty much says it all.

      3. I found Dead Island only to be fun in co-op with friends. Not the random kids who want to give you modded weapons and talk about how many times they beat that game, but people you actually know.

By yourself, it gets really old really fast. The story is pretty thin.

  5. Swtor, my only gripe so far is that the Jedi & Sith classes are too overpowering in a pvp warzone. My smuggler doesn't stand a chance in those games. I may have to make a Jedi or sith class sooner than I expected.

Other games mw3, bf3, and top gun for the nes, determined to get past mission 2!

    1. The bracketing is what hurts. Some of your stats are made even but some guys will always have more talent points than you until you hit lvl 50. At lvl 50 you can no longer queue for the 10-49 warzones.

My Juggernaut gets creamed by Ranged though:(

      1. Yeah I know that. I can hold my own against other ranged players but they have attacks and skills over my scoundrel smuggler I can't last long and don't get me started on 2 or 3 sith/jedi's attacking me at the same time. I don't last more than 3 secs.

      2. My Gunslinger gets creamed one on one with pretty much any Sith. Most of my best attacks come from cover, and one Force Choke screws me right good. I don't spend a lot of time in PvP though.

What irks me is how damn impossible it is to find a group. I have 6 Heroic 4's on Balmorra to do. Can't find a party. I had to abandon two Heroic 4's and 2 Heroic 2+'s on Nar Shaddaa because they'd grayed out for me cause I couldn't find a party. I can't find a group to do the Maelstrom Prison Flashpoint. Maybe I'm just not the right level compared to the other people on my server, but it's obnoxious to have to pass up on all the group content.

  6. @ Smartguy & Tokz – the three of us oughta create characters on the same server to play together. Even if it's just a bit of side gaming compared to our main characters.

    1. Yeah sure. I wasn't looking to start a new character until I got my scoundrel to level 30 but what the hey. I don't know if the heroics are in my storyline but I just got to coruscant and I'm barely going to do the heroic 2 mission there most likely tomorrow before or after the football games of course.
