What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I haven’t gotten a chance to play the retail version of Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 yet — you know, the game with the award-winning writing — but I’ll definitely make time this weekend. I expect to be captivated by The Miz and Christian storylines. Aside from that, it’ll be my usual juggling of seven games of Wordfeud for Android.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. NBA 2k11 and maybe FU:2. I liked the demo…but I just know I shouldn't buy it.

Might try and get some Lich King in.

  2. I'm actually going to go pick up GoldenEye for the Wii later on today. My friends are going to go old school and do some spilt screen action today. Golden Gun FTW!

I'll also try to finally finish FF13. My gf and i aren't hanging out this weekend as much so more time for gaming. I'm also getting some more Reach in as well

  3. WWE SDvR'11. Really need to write my review of it too. The new physics system, "WWE Universe" and graphical improvements are awesome. Game is a bit buggy though. Hopefully there's a patch in the works for some of the inconsistencies, like objects randomly skipping from one location to another and the framerate drops at the beginning of every match.

    1. Oh, and Fable III. I've also got like 5 other games sitting here that I've been meaning to play that I haven't gotten around to at all including Halo: Reach, Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, Costume Quest & Mafia II.

      1. Whenever you get around to Reach (heh, heh) and feel like doing some co-op, just send me a message and I'll be happy to help out. I'm always looking for an excuse to go through the campaign again.

    2. I spotted out one bug to you in it, but I will go into detail now.

I'm all about making my own character in games. Maybe it's the artist side of me that enjoys this, but I truly prefer to customize my visual experience. So… I made a character that resembled me, fabricated my real life tattoos in the paint tool, created my entrance video from a highlight reel, created 2 finishers, and chose "Renegade" by Styx as my theme song in my completely customized intro.

Now, I noticed in the RTW that I could get through a few a matches, but after a while when I was introduced second… the game would completely freeze right as my intro was beginning. That was frustrating.

Another thing that happened to me, is that I strong whipped Finley into the turnbuckle I had previously exposed, went to grapple him too soon, and both wrestlers froze in place like a couple of mannequins while the crowd still cheered on. However, I was able to just quit that match rather than restart my system.

      1. I think the game is punishing you for your creativity. Well, at least you can't blame bad programming on Mr. Padilla.

    3. By the way, if you want to test out the multiplayer, I'll totally help.

Fair warning… I suck at multiplayer on that game.

      1. Yeah, I've had some freezing too. There's some other glitches, like I threw a player into the corner with a ladder in it and the ladder magically jumped above the ring post as the player hit the turnbuckle. Like I said, hopefully a lot of that stuff gets cleaned up in patches.

I also tend to make created wrestlers based off of myself or people I know. I'm crazy enough to actually fill all the CaW spots this way, which helps a lot when I look at the actual roster and go "who the fuck is that?!?" to roughly 1/3 of them. But that's what I get for not really following the sport much in a few years.

Actually, multiplayer is one of the things I dread about doing reviews because I invariably end up stuck trying to play with people who spam the same 2 moves over and over again. So I'd absolutely be up for partnering with you on that.

      2. Maybe that's why I suck at multiplayer… I try to put on a show rather than spam for the win.

        Yeah… hit me up.

      3. Sounds good. I had a neck injection yesterday, so I'll likely be laying down w/ a controller for a good part of the day.

  4. I'd like to get deeper into Fallout New Vegas. I'm at a point where I have 3 save files at roughly the same place because I'm not sure how I want to proceed with the actions that occur after that point.

I'll probably get in some SVR as well.

    1. I just got the Sheriff into Primm (fixed the robot). Then I went into the casino and got a few million caps and all other currencies. I haven't played since. I have been debating whether or not to continue with my exploited game and not ever worry about caps again or to use my actual game.

      1. I'm well past that, But I don't nearly have that many caps.

I probably should gamble more, I've gotten the hang of caravan pretty well. It's just that nobody wants to throw down the money I'm trying to win with it.

      2. I used the glitch in the Vikki & Vance Casino to get that many. I never actually played any of the games. Just kept trading in my caps for chips then cashing out my chips. Thing is you keep your chips but get all your caps back, so then you can buy more chips. Got to where I was getting 100,000 caps per cash out. Took about 2minutes to get over 1,000,000.

    2. I thought maybe you had 3 save files so you could go back and check out some of the game's more creative glitches……

I haven't played it yet, but the guy on our site that's reviewing it is a HUGE Fallout fan and he says it's nearly unplayable.

      1. You know… I haven't really experienced glitches all like that. It froze a few times during loading screens, and at one point the loading screens would take FOREVER… but I just restarted the software and it was fine.

I did get stuck on a rock once… but I really shouldn't have been trying to go where I was when that happened.

I love it personally. First thing I had noticed was that the map seemed smaller than Fallout 3 so I was worried that the overall game would be shorter… that's not the case. They load you up with missions well.

There's also a replayability factor that's tripled since they added the traits. I'm doing good karma now, but I really can't wait to start my bad karma game. It seems to be a whole new game with a different story and all if you take the evil path.

      2. I have had some nearly crippling glitches. The worst offense is the game randomly quits. I mean it instantly quits all the way out to the PSN home screen and doesn't save a thing. Thats the only one I have had but it has done it 3 times. Might just be PS3 version though. I haven't found anything else that was a turn off.

BTW is it just me or is picking locks a BITCH now without breaking any lockpicks.

      3. I never broke locks in Fallout 3 so I got pretty good at the minigame.

It has to be a PS3 thing… that sucks.

  5. My fiance will be down this weekend for my birthday, so I won't get too much gaming in most likely.

I will be playing Pokemon Diamond and maybe some HeartGold though, mostly trading to increase my pokedex. I'm in the process of trying to breed for a modest Venusaur with close to 31 in Sp. Atk. IV's, but it isn't working out too well so far. I've gotten some that are 31 in Atk. and 26-28ish in Sp. Atk., but I want as many positive IV's as I can get.

Next I gotta get some of the other pokemon I want to breed and train. This is where having a more complete pokedex would help out a little bit.

    1. Thanks everyone!

Going out to Dave & Buster's tomorrow night to celebrate, unfortunately I will still have to go to classes on Monday, my prof's don't think it is a good enough reason to skip.

      1. Thanks everyone!

It is fun, but I have gone through 14 bulbasaurs and haven't even gotten close to what I wanted yet. I am still having no luck getting 31 IV in the special attack. It's mostly annoying to calculate the IV's after the eggs have hatched though because I have so few Rare Candy's that the easiest way to level up to get an accurate check is to put them in the day care, walk around, and then use my rare candy to check stats for several levels to find my IV's. If only there was a quicker way, lol. It will pay off when I find one worth keeping.

      2. I started with a modest ditto with 20/11/21/27/11/4-6 and a rash female bulbasaur that has 23/29/13/22/12/10

I've gotten several useless males out of them, and probably 3 males that had 31 in attack and 26-27 in special attack (which is what I am mostly breeding for).

now my ditto and original female won't breed, and I have only gotten one other female bulbasaur which had all IV's under 10, making it pretty much useless. so I am a little stuck at the moment.

      3. I believe that, the problem I have with that currently is that my ditto still has the best Special Attack IV out of anything I've been working with so far. My ditto and female bulbasaur are breeding again though. I'm not sure what their problem was before, exhaustion perhaps, lol.

    1. I got to play for about 1 hour on the SP. I am looking forward to picking it up again though.

  6. Bayonetta (the game is not easy) and Halo Reach to wind down.

If my wife has anything to say about it, I'll be playing Harvest Moon; Tree of Tranquility.

You may now start hurling your jokes.
