Why You Want Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood’s Special Edition

Ubisoft has announced the goodies that come with the American special edition of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. A lot of you will want to consider buying the $100 special edition. I’ll tell you why in a few seconds. Check out the laundry list of bonuses first:

  • Harlequin-in-a-box (GameStop exclusive) or doctor-in-a-box toy
  • Book on the game’s art
  • Map of Rome
  • Two additional single-player maps
  • Bonus disc with “making of” feature, soundtrack, and comic-book preview

There’s a strong rumor going around that one of the writers of the outstanding WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 has spent the last few weeks producing the “making of” video for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. I will see what other info I can find on this “super secret project”. *snicker*

Anyone else terrified of the toys that come with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood? Which one do you think is scarier? The harlequin or the doctor?

  1. will this writed be featured or in any be shown on the making of video? also will the writer benefit from us paying this special edition??? i would get the doctor version btw.

  2. @tokz_21 The rumor is that said writer has been calling the shots behind the scenes of this behind-the-scenes video. He or she would not benefit directly from your purchase…unless it was made through an Amazon link or something. Ha!

@smartguy Yes. The single player is a continuation of AC2. The multiplayer has a chance to stand out. I mean, a multiplayer game without guns?!? That's crazy!!!

  3. @rpad

i'll probably end up "helping a writer out" by seeing if i can just purchase the doctor j.i.b. on it's own. i didn't like AC2 after all and i doubt i'll like AC:B

  4. i should have said "swarthy"

congrats ray, i hope they paid you well for that…are you on the video? or is it strictly a writing credit?

  5. The Doctor would be scarier if it didn't look like that scene on Beetlejuice where the guy is trying to make himself scarier.

2 additional SP maps??? How does that work? Just new places to go in the game?

  6. Is that what the "super secret project" was/is all about? I was beginning to wonder if we'd ever be privy to find out what all the hubbub was about.

I, personally thought it was going to be a documented hunt for a diamond ring and subsequent marriage proposal (in an incredibly public and elaborate fashion) to Reona Rewis.

You should work on that as your next "project", Mr. Padilla. I have some really great ideas if you would like to use them. (*snicker*)

    1. @Iceman I can neither confirm nor deny any involvement with the project being discussed. It's just a rumor.

Also, how do you know that said writer doesn't have more than one project going on, with one possibly involving the recently single Reona Rewis. Again, that's also just a rumor.

  7. @rpad

speaking of reona rewis.i'm still working my way through ff13, on chapter 5 now. Her music makes this game pretty awesome. I'm kicking myself for not playing this sooner.

  8. @ Topic

The DR is way scarier because he has a needle, and whats in that needle is what scares me lol. A knife is a knife and that is not scary well it is but not as much as the unknown agent in the needle lol.

I don't think i will be playing any new games for a long time due to medical bills. Shit sometimes I wish I didn't give a damn about my health so I can purchase games…..wait just had an epiphany mid typing….I'm going to sign up for gamefly, problem solved!

  9. the iMac will fix those aches and pains. Just like those games will fix BB's. One thing that we all must do is reward ourselves. You can't just pay bills and go to bed on time.

  10. @ Ray

It's the fact that the reality distortion field will make you THINK it's regenerating meniscus tissue. Mind over matter and all that.

Just don't hold your knee the wrong way.

    @ Mr. Blak

For real, just worry about getting healthy. You can catch up on games.

If you haven't signed up for gamefly yet, blockbuster hass added games to their mail service. you can now have out dvds/blurays/games out at the same time. According to the adding games will not increase the prices but i'm sure it will. I did a free 2 week trial with 3 discs out at a time just to see if it's better than gamefly and right now it's not looking good. I tried to rent Madden 11 not available until november to rent. I tried to rent MAG not available to rent anymore, i wonder why? I tried to rent FIFA10 it was available yesterday when i added it at 6p and when i woke up this morning it wasn't. so i'm going with Demon's souls and Dragon Age. the 3rd disc is a movie, hot tub time machine, because it's in long wait status. *sighs*

  12. @tokz

Yeah the games have to be out for like 30 or 40 days before you can rent them. Blockbuster never actually carried MAG for some odd reason. I think because it was all online and no singe player, same with Alpha Protocol(which is funny because we sell the strategy guide for it). To be honest with you, as an employee, I hate the online with a passion. We offer passes to people which give you unlimited rentals, those actually help the store with money. Online on the other hand goes to the company and drives down stores' revenue. Basically the moral of the story is, please buy some candy.

  13. @arguello

well they have MAG on the website to buy just not to rent, which is pretty lame. I used to enjoy the blockbuster online at first because of the option to return a movie then you can in turn rent a game or movie for free but then it's like close to 32 bucks with taxes too much $$. if i like their online service again w/video games now, i might keep them and have both netflix and blockbuster. so what you're saying is if i buy you're 3 for $10 deals, it will keep you employed??

  14. @tokz

Pretty much, Candy is where we make most of our money being that most of it is pure profit, not only that, but usually Stores have sales goals. One of those goals is always some form of a candy bundle. More sales equals more hours which means your local store would stay open longer. We also make a killing on used movies too. Now I am not saying if a store closes it is one persons responsibility, but you always make someones day there when you bring up one of those 3 dollar deals. As for MAG, We even promoted it for rental before its release and everything, then D-day came and we never got it. No stores in my district even got it to sell. For the online games, Its incredibly gay ::looks at Hillary Duff:: excuse me, stupid that you have to wait for a certain time before you can rent newer titles. If you are close to your blockbuster at all the pass is the way to go. I think one game out at a time is like $20 with tax, and then you don't have to wait for new games.

  15. @Big Blak

right now i don't have game fly anymore because of the long waits for games even though they were available. Blockbuster has let me down so far but i'm testing it out free for two weeks. games just shipped out today and i should get them tomorrow according to them. I'll play them for a bit and return them just to see how fast the turnaround is. if it's faster than gamefly's than i'll stick to that and reduce it to 1 disc or 2 discs with the instore return as recommended by Arguello. (thanks for the advice btw Arguello)
