Pokemon Sunday Shows First Pokemon Black/White Gameplay

Here’s a brief gameplay clip of the upcoming Pokemon Black/White from the Pokemon Sunday show in Japan. Zorua and Zoroark are shown after the clip. It gives you an idea of the how the new environments work…but more importantly, it gives me a new dream. I would love to work on a goofy-ass Pokemon show in America. Sadly, I don’t think it would play here. Ha!

  1. How about a sub show? Like a 5-10 minute show after the anime airs on WB. Also, I just got to work and now I want to go home watch this video. T-T

  2. I only watched the first 30 seconds of that clip so far, and if this is what these games will look like on thee 3DS…I am sold!!! Wow. And I thought the Diamond/Pearl were good…damn.

  3. this is a 3DS game? I haven't played a pokemon game since silver and gold. Maybe i'll jump back on if and when more gameplay is revealed.

  4. LOL

    The show was too distracting to watch and there was only a whole 10 seconds of footage, but those 10 seconds showed the new 3D capabilities of the 3DS.

  5. I guess I just assumed that since it looked 3D and because of the times that they were announced to be released, the next gen Pokemon would be on the 3DS.

    People have been saying that Nintendo is shooting themselves in the foot with the DSi XL because it was released after the announcement of the 3DS, and they along with the DSi are all being released pretty soon one right after the other…so what better way to market and sell a TON of the 3DS's than by making the next gen Pokemon (guaranteed hit) one of the first 3DS games available??

  6. @bsukenyan Keep in mind that the DSi LL (Japanese name) has been out in Japan since last year. The 3DS would most likely be Japan first then other markets. Also keep in mind that Nintendo's hand was forced since a bunch of people found out about the system.

    @Insomniacswaltz Indeed!

    I agree, everything will all come out in Japan first, but I think the logic about Pokemon being a main selling point makes a lot of sense for why the next Pokemon would be on the 3DS.

    An excellent point, they are traditionally sold after the platform is established…weakens my logic on the subject for sure, but I still think it sounds good in theory.

    (this is the only Pokemon game released at launch with a Nintendo system, and I know this really isn't in the same category that we are talking about, just thought I should mention in to be thorough) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Dash

    How about this, if they chose to release Pokemon Black/White as a 3DS launch title, then I would completely see their logic in using Pokemon as a ploy to sell the 3DS to an American audience so soon after a previous Nintendo hand held.

    (Of course the inherent flaw in that logic is that any Nintendo hand held needs a killer game to act as a catalyst for selling the platform. They could probably market a hand held platform with no games available and it would still sell by the boat loads! HA)

  9. Finally my gravatar changed!! I had to reset my cache for it to actually change…@RROD perhaps that could be a problem in your case as well…? I don't know if you had really looked in to the situation or not, but I read that it said to try that and it worked for me, who knows.

    Ether way this game will set a president for Pokémon games. It will ether be the first Pokémon game as a launch title, or the first non remake to appear on the same handheld as another. I think the time frame is to close for them not release it on the 3DS. If they put it on the DS, then it might not look good for their 3DS as it would make consumers question whether Nintendo is fully behind the 3DS.
