Google Pushes HTML5 With Gmail Drag-and-Drop Attachments

Google has been one of the biggest proponents of HTML5 and it continues to champion the standard with drag-and-drop attachments for Gmail. Currently enabled on a rolling basis for Gmail users on Google Chrome and Firefox 3.6, this nifty bit of tech adds convenience to the file-attachment process.

Sadly, none of my Gmail accounts have this feature enabled at the time of this writing. Please let me know if it’s working for you. If so, what do you think?

  1. doesn't work on any of my 6 gmail accounts yet, but it looks like a cool feature to have. I don't normally have trouble attaching files the normal way though. But it's always nice to have options.

  2. Works fine for me. I guess it is ever so slightly more convenient, but never bothered me before

  3. While composing and email if I grab a file and move it anywhere over the browser screen it pops up "drop files here" and that's it

  4. @Sandrock323 I don't know that people are split on it. The big deal is that it can lead to better web experiences. On the business front, it has a chance to supplant Flash in many — but certainly not all — cases.
