Happy Birthday N8R!!!

As some of you already know, today is N8R’s birthday! Please join me in wishing him an excellent day, month, and year. He’s one of two people that convinced me to start this site, so everything here is pretty much his fault! Ha!!! Seriously though, thanks for everything man! Happy birthday!!!

On a side note, before I got to know him better, I always thought N8R was a member of the Green Party, as in Ralph N8R.

  1. Happy Bday N8R.

    @Raymond Padilla

    Who was the other person that convinced you to do this site? Also, I always wondered how did it make you feel when you saw the backlash and the hell we raised on G4 when we learned that they let you go? Billy Berghammer was canned a couple of weeks after you and no one cared.

  2. Oh damn… this was unexpected.

    Thank you very much Ray and everyone else. I'm at a loss for words (which is rare). The Steeler logo is an awesome touch though.

    The comes from my band actually. They all call me Nater and Darth Nater and other variations stemming from my real name (Nate). I've been spelling N8 with an 8 since junior high school. On The Feed, the minimum amount of characters allowed to be used was 3. I tried 2 (N8) and it wouldn't pass. So I added the R and the N8R name was created. I never really believed in Ralph Nader.

    I was almost nVIII… but how many of you would have caught on to that?

  3. @ RROD

    I thought Berghammer was canned the same day? Anyway, I figured Ray got the credit from us due to his awesome interaction with the community. Nobody else there respected us as people except him.

    And… thanks.

  4. @ Larcenous

    I know, i tried it as my gamertag at first and it wasn't happening. So I pulled a referenve from Red Dwarf and now everyone calls me Judas.

  5. @LarcenousLaugh

    They were shocked I'm sure. Patrick and Sterling started responding a lot after they saw the love we gave to Ray.

  6. @RRODisHere The other person that convinced me…I probably shouldn't talk about. It wasn't a positive influence like N8R's. As for how I felt, it was pretty awesome considering the surprise of being let go while traveling in Asia. It really made me feel good about what I tried to do at TheFeed in terms of emphasizing interaction and community, writing in a personal way. I think I mentioned it before, but with losing my job, a gimpy knee, and my friend dying, you guys really kept me going.

    Enough about that though! This is N8R's thread!!!

    @N8R Believe in Ralph Nader. He's a real person. I've seen him. :P

  7. @N8R

    Same day as Ray or 2 weeks after, who cares? That's my point. You might be right though. You are exactly spot on about reason we love Raymond. He always seemed like a real person due to his interaction with us when no one else did.

  8. Happy Birthday once again! I believe in…N8R ^^

    Saying that for some reason made me think of "Nobody believes in the Spanish Inqusition!!" Don't ask me why, I don't know lol.

  9. Happy Birthday, N8!

    Here's to many more! Also, thank you Mr. Padialla for letting me know whom to take my complaints about the site to. I mean, really… who's leg do I have to hump to get a dry martini around here?

    I almost forgot to change my gravatar this week. Actually, I think I was mesmerized by the hot chick. Anyway, this week's logo is on fire… like Justin Timberlake's ping pong paddle after beating Peyton. Not only is it a cool pic, but it also represents my burning desire to have the Dolphins beat the Steelers next year. Which reminds me; I'm willing to up the ante for next year’s game. What say you? Name your price, birthday boy.

    @Ralph N8R;

    He actually makes a lot of sense if you hear what he has to say. I see him as more of a crusader and a champion of consumer's rights. The problem is that all of the corporatism in this country has in essence, shut him out. He (and his policies) would be a really big threat to huge "too-big-too-fail" corporations. I'm not saying that I agree 100% with him, but he deserves to be heard (just like anybody else that makes sense).

    Thanks dude. That pic is actually one of my desktop wallpapers. It changes every 5 minutes and that one comes up every so often.

    I have no idea on the price yet, give me some time to think about it.

    And don't come (or spelled the other way) near my leg.

    @ tokz

    Thank you as well.

    @ Ralph N8R

    I just never believed he could pull off what he talks about. It's like Ron Paul. I love the guy and what he says, but I fear he'd get shot if he actually tried it.

  11. @N8R;

    They would totally be shot if they were in charge. JFK and MLK got shot for far less than that.

    Take all the time you want to think about the wager. You have many months to ponder. My suggestions range from free gas (a perk I get at work), to a game, to my favorite… public humiliation.

  12. Thanks rbee.

    @ Iceman

    Public humiliation is definitely the front runner. I'm just trying to be as creative as possible.

    I once pulled a joke on a friend of mine where I got copies of her apartment keys made without her knowing and periodically went to her place while she was working to rearrange the furniture. We even switched entire rooms at some points. This lasted about 8 months with her being none the wiser.

    She called the police and they just thought she was on drugs and forgot she had rearranged her own furniture. It got to the point where everyone she knew was in on it except her and her closest friend (who would surely have talked). Other people started saying it happened to them too and she thought there was some crazy person in the neighborhood breaking in to people's houses and rearranging furniture.

    Totally hilarious. It ended when some money got misplaced in the process and I had to tell her where it was because it was her rent money. So, I cracked. Otherwise she might still have no idea what was going down.

  13. Happy Birthday man.

    Not only does Ray make the site awesome but the fact that everybody gets along is pretty awesome. So thanks for helping us have a home.

    P.s. there's a stripper in the cake.

  14. @Nightshade – you should so do it though

    @Ray – I always thought it was some weird Ralph N8Rish joke as well.

    @RROD – I always wondered what The Feed guys over there actually thought when we pulled the Morning Hangover down in rememberance. Were they filled with admiration, skorn, or just “meh”?

  15. january 20th?

    im exactly 2 months younger than you

    sorry i missed the party yesterday, happy birthday (a day late) and thanks for all you do here and for all the work you did back at the feed….i miss my avatar……

  16. Thanks again guys.

    @ Thundercracker

    Ya know, they redid the forums over there and all those avatrs got deleted.
