Verizon’s New Ads Borrow From Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Verizon’s hardly my favorite company, but I’m really enjoying its advertising campaign for its Droid phone. Following its clever “iDon’t” commercials, the company’s holiday 2009 ads borrow from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, “Blue Christmas”, and Santa’s elves.

The first spot places the iPhone in the Land of Misfit Toys.

Next is the “Blue Christmas” commercial, as in you’ll be blue if you’re relying on AT&T’s coverage.

Capping it off is a “naughty or nice” bit featuring Santa’s elves.

The commercials are cute and make a point. I’m totally digging them. Let me know what you think of Verizon’s holiday ad campaign.

  1. I'm trying to decide if Apple considers this a shot against the iPhone or just against ATT. I'm sure Verizon is aware that the iPhone is the most popular ATT phone which is probably why it is targeted I'm just curious what Apple thinks of all this.

I don't want Verizon to screw up a potential deal with Apple. I'd love to see my iPhone on their network for 2010

  2. @Shockwave562 Well it wouldn't be your current iPhone since AT&T is a GSM carrier and Verizon is CDMA. Both networks are moving to LTE, which requires an entirely difference chipset.

  3. This commercial is awesome. It literally made me LMAO.

Verizon is just ruthlessly attacking AT&T now.

You might want to get that checked out. You might have a lawsuit as well.
