Michael Weston has uploaded a video of the Pandora handheld gaming system, which combines an open-source OS with a powerful ARM Cortex A-8 CPU and a PowerVR SGX GPU. While it’s not going to put a dent in Nintendo’s market share, it’s an interesting look at the potential future of handheld gaming. Pandora is a potent portable that also lets you tackle basic computing needs. Check out the video after the break!
Let me know what you think of Pandora when you a moment.
Video doesn't play at work, so I'll have to run off of just the photo.
At first look, it looks kinda bulky. I don't know how it compares to the DS in size, but that looks like an awful lot of buttons. I am going to have to deal with all of those… and a stylus?
And why is that Penguin staring at me? *taps on screen* Yeah I see you there. Don't think you can hide Penguino!
hmm, bulky and the os seems to be very slow while navigating, Especially if you have to use the stylus. I can't see this as a convenient machine for that but the thought of all my Atari, NES, SNES, and Genesis/Master System games on one portable sounds pretty nice. I think it would be a nightmare navigating to the game I'd like to play though.
