Michael Bay Nabs Megan Fox For Ninja Turtles

Michael Bay has announced that Megan Fox will appear in the upcoming Ninja Turtles movie he’s producing. Many fans have speculated that Fox will play April O’Neil. While I’m totally down with seeing Fox in skimpy clothing, I’m a little bit scared of the movie. It has gone through some strange twists and turns, and I sincerely doubt it will be faithful to the source material. It’s suppose to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, but later transformed (get it?!?) into Alien Turtles and is now being referred to as Ninja Turtles. Rumor has it that Leonardo and the gang will not be the focus of the movie. Instead, it will allegedly star the turtles’ pal Casey Jones.

Hopefully the Fox rumor is true and the Casey Jones rumor doesn’t pan out. I loved the original Eastman and Laird comic books, so I’m hoping for something similarly grim and gritty. My fear is that Bay will make a big-budget version of that stupid TMNT cartoon. Oy.

  1. Well I’m cool with the big budget cartoon version since the only material I know would be the cartoons, arcade, nes, and the first 2 movies.

I wonder if she’s gonna be a red head? Love red heads and will be disappointed if she isn’t.

  2. Bay is directing this movie? Oh crap, now I can expect exploding mutagen exploding the turtles so they can explode foot soldiers that are trying to explode a building next to an exploding gas station… and then a slow-pan shot of Megan Fox’s ass.

    Then it explodes.

    1. He’s not directing. He’s producing. Jonathan Liebesman is directing. His movies include Battle Los Angeles and Wrath of the Titans. So yeah, I’m not sure if that’s any kind of improvement over Bay.

  3. On a more serious note; have any of you guys seen the CG TMNT Saturday morning series on Nick? It’s actually pretty good. Like, really good. There are not many cartoon series from the 80’s and 90’s where I think that the modern version is better, but I have to say that the modern version of Turtles is so much better than the 90’s cartoons. Each one of them now has a distinctive personality. Splinter is more of a strong, viable master instead of an old, crippled rat with a cane. April is a spunky teenager (instead of a dumb adult). Most of the characters now all have much better motivations for doing what they do, instead of the usual this-is-a-good-guy-and-this-is-a-bad-guy, “black-and-white-ness” of the original. The Krang space army as a third-wheel antagonist introduces much-needed variety over the “Turtles vs. Foot Clan” formula.

I can go on and on about this, but I just have to say that next to Young Justice, TMNT is the best animated show on TV right now. (Sorry, Mr. Padilla, but Green Lantern lost me when they got to the Pink Lantern planet and some human woman with a pink ring and a wardrobe out of the Jetsons had to fight one-on-one with Atrocitus with the power of “love”… [cue eye roll and *click*]).

Seriously, watch TMNT on Nick (preferably with your young kids if you have them).

      1. I think that it’s obvious at this point that I have not. My first introduction to TMNT was the popular cartoon series and the uber-difficult NES game. Although I do have to say that at the time I was too “old” for the cartoon series. I am familiar with it because my little brother was like 8 or 9 at the time and he was really into it, so I, too got familiar with it. Even at that time, I thought it was original concept but still pretty “meh”.
