This Week’s Videogame Releases

There’s a trio of interesting games coming out this week. First up is Resistance: Burning Skies, which brings one of Sony’s most popular PS3 franchises to the PlayStation Vita. One of the best games of 2011 gets repackaged with loads of great DLC in Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition. Lastly, a long-running and unusual JRPG franchise gets another release in Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland.

Any of you picking up new games this week? Also, be sure to check out Amazon’s all-day Gold Box videogame deals (please)!

  1. I am still playing last weeks Dragon's Dogma. Honestly I got it thinking I was going to hate it, but I really really like it. It feels like Dungeon Siege/Skyrim/Resident Evil/Demon Souls.

    1. Glad to hear that. I'm totally buying it when it goes on sale (since I can wait). I just hope I don't get too rusty with my combat skills in the meantime.

      1. Does it contain any spoilers? I'd love to read it if it doesn't.

Oh, it's not a question of taking a chance. I will buy this eventually for sure, but Gears 3 is taking up most of my time now. Being the achievement whore I am, I can't stand to see a game that I 100% completed automatically brought down to 86% just because some DLC comes out.

      2. I stayed intentionally spoiler free with regards to the DLC pack. The review assumes you've beaten the rest of the game and you know what happens to you know who at the end.

    2. I saw something about that the other day when I was looking through the achievements. I suddenly realized there were a ton there that weren't before and then I saw that there was some DLC. I'd like to pick this up some time, so I'm looking forward to it. I'll check out the review too.

  2. Public service announcement.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations on sale at BB for 30 dollars. Coupled with the 20 dollar coupon in this month's @gamer magazine, that brings the price down to 10 bucks. Very good deal.

NCAA 2012 on sale for 20.

Also, 50 percent bonus trade in value this week.

  3. I officially like the two new Mass Effect 3 multiplayer maps more than most of the other ones. Although there was on in the last free DLC that I thought was excellent too. But if I never see Firebase: Reactor again it'll be too soon.
