Welcome to Coffee Talk! Let’s start off the day by discussing whatever is on your (nerd chic) mind. Every morning I’ll kick off a discussion and I’m counting on you to participate in it. If you’re not feelin’ my topic, feel free to start a chat with your fellow readers and see where it takes you. Happy new year to you all! I’m super looking forward to 2012. Momentum is building, things are looking brighter, and I’m feeling good that this year will be better than my last two. Since it’s the start of a new year, I wanted to see if any of you have made any gaming resolutions for 2012. Are there any genres or developers you usually ignore that you want to give a shot this year? Perhaps you’ll try to be a more competitive gamer in 2012? Or maybe you won’t run away on trolleys when challenged in Mortal Kombat. Whatever the case may be, I’d love to hear about your 2012 gaming resolutions.
As for me, I’m going to make an effort to hold more RPad.tv Invitationals. Juggling and struggling with new work has caused me to totally drop the ball on these online gatherings. I miss them and I’m going to do something about it. With your help, hopefully we can make these a monthly event, at the very least.
Let’s start with this week! For old time’s sake, let’s kick off 2012 with some Uno. I can play on Wednesday or Thursday. Please let me know which day and what time works best for you. I’ll go with the majority. In the future, I want to try the PlayStation Home poker that N8R recommended. Let’s keep the RPad.tv Invitationals going!
Finish more games. I started too many games in 2011 and never finished them.

Gonna try and get back into PC gaming. I actually have a PC that can play games now, but even still the keyboard has never been my favorite interface for gaming. But with me playing The Old Republic now, and Diablo III on the horizon, I'd like to continue to increase my comfort level with PC gaming.
This guy is a dumbass. Or a dumbass who lives in a bubble. Ray is it considered chic to have this guy's viewpoint in the gaming industry? This viewpoint just reeks of some guy who comes off as an elitist in gaming conversations. Or woman. I'm not sure which.

Yeah, he/she/it does sound a bit snooty in that article. I see what they were trying to get at, but that topic would have been better handled as a point/counter-point column.

My new years resolution is to learn Java Script well enough to make a game. I'm saving what kind of game and how difficult to make untill I know enough to set a realistic goal.

My New Year's Resolution is to try out the tablet gaming and Xbox gaming experiences. I have to admit, getting a Wii but not an Xbox or PS3 was a HUGE mistake. So many games I've missed out on, so little time to play them… And now that I've got a Kindle Fire, I'm checking out the Handheld Console's main competitor. So far, I'm liking it, but PLEASE add more games like Battleheart and Quell! I loves those!
