Welcome to Coffee Talk! Let’s start off the day by discussing whatever is on your (nerd chic) mind. Every morning I’ll kick off a discussion and I’m counting on you to participate in it. If you’re not feelin’ my topic, feel free to start a chat with your fellow readers and see where it takes you. Whether you’re talking about videogames, Mariano Rivera’s 600th save, putting a dollar value on your work, or Dyson’s hot air multiplier, Coffee Talk is the place to do it.
I’ve always wanted my own entrance music. You know, like how pro-wrestlers have their own entrance music. When I was a kid, I thought it was awesome that Hulk Hogan used “Eye of the Tiger” (Survivor), Junkyard Dog used “Another One Bites the Dust” (Queen), and Kerry Von Erich used “Tom Sawyer” (Rush) as their entrance themes. Of course nothing beats Ric Flair hitting the ring to “Also Sprach Zarathustra“, more commonly known as the intro music to the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Entrance music changed when Vince McMahon realized that he could save money in licensing fees and make money by selling his own music. Awesome songs by established artists were replaced by mediocre songs performed by no-names. Sure there are exceptions. Hulk Hogan’s “Real American” (Rick Derringer) seems completely appropriate for his character. Motorhead is awesome and Triple H is a mark for the band, so “The Game” makes total sense for him. While today’s entrance music isn’t what it used to be, most of it still works.
If I had my wish, I’d borrow “Sexy Boy” for my personal entrance theme. The lyrics are ridiculous and the music is cheesy. Most of you have known me long enough to have figured out that I’m ridiculous and cheesy. I would absolutely abuse my entrance theme (and spend a fortune in background fireworks). I would use it every time I entered groceries, office buildings, restaurants, courtrooms, etc. (I wouldn’t use it at funerals and when entering bathrooms.) The music fits my personality and would be my little tribute to “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels.
If you could have your own entrance music, what would it be? Choose wisely!
I'll have to think about my theme music for a bit and come back to you. The dyson hot is pretty awesome. Ive been pretty excited fo this model to come out for a month already. Too bad i wont be able to buy it anytime soon.
I thought about it and i decided to go with "Matador by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs"
But id love to have a great entrance song like Aaaaaaalllllllbeeertooooo Dellllllll Riiiiooooooo!!
I would love to have my intro music done by Slipknot. If I had to choose one of their already made songs I would pick either Surfacing or Left Behind.
I was guessing you'd pick Aerosmith or NKotB.
I like Aerosmith but not really like that, and I don't know what NKotB is. Sorry to disappoint you lol. Oh wait I do get it New Kids, lmfao your ridiculous Rpad!!!
I'm giving you "Hangin' Tough" as your entrance theme.

Lmao I'm not even going to look because I have a strong suspicion that this is a NKotB song. What you have to remember is that us black folks in Boston had New Edition and the white folks had NKotB so I know nothing of their music, except for what Weird Al has parodied.
Minion by Bleed the Sky
or i may go total cornball and do "the touch" from Stan Bush….HAHA
I'd have to go with this one or "Dare"
stan bush is highly underrated, Dare is another fantastic song
On all my wrestling games, my entrance music is "Renegade" by Styx.
I'm sorry… but the Steelers come out to Renegade during our home games… and this is what made me realize that Styx wrote the best entrance song ever.
Coming undone by Korn.
that would be a good one. Korn has some good music for stuff like that.
I might have to go with "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed (from back when they were still ok).
Still no internet at the apartment (Starbucks makes a good caramel apple spice) but that should hopefully be remedied soon. In the meantime I'm playing a lot of Kinect and I beat Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant and a couple campaign levels of CoD. I really would like to finish that campaign soon, so now with some time internet-less I am playing that finally.
I'm also starting to read Atlas Shrugged, before I go back to playing Bioshock. I've been told by various people to read this book for the past 5-6 years but never really got around to it til Iceman suggested it made good food for thought while playing Bioshock…and they say video games are bad for kids, but they are clearly making me read!!
Yes! Atlas Shrugged is about the socio-economic/political theory of objectivism (which Ayn Rand pretty much created). Bioshock is actually an intelligent critique on objectivism that is surprisingly deep if you listen to the all the audio logs and piece together the story of what happened (and is happening) in Rapture. 2K Boston should actually make the game into a novel so that it can reach a broader audience. After all, Fall of Reach made the Halo Universe much more palatable for me.

Well, if I was a wrestler, no doubt they'd shoe-horn me into a Cuban stereotype, but I'd roll with it since I'd be making oodles of money (hopefully) and go with something by Willie Chirino… and if none of you know who he is (which I expect, except maybe for N8), then I guess I'll settle for some crap from Pitbull or Flo Rida. Naturally, I'd be a heel with a Marxist angle. My goal would entail being more hated than The Miz.
If it was up to me, though, I'd go with "Holy Wars… Punishment Due" by Megadeth. Although, that may not be the best music for a WWE entrance, I'd guess I'll have to go with something like this:
And, yes, I'll dance like that down the ramp until I get to the ring because it took me a long time to learn how to do it and to hell if I'm just not going to use it because it's a few years old!

Konnan is Cuban. He could be your manager. You could pay tribute to Desi Arnaz and use "Babalu" are your entrance theme!
Ultimate entrance music found!!!

damn you, padilla
Gha!! I was going to do that with my video link, but I decided against it because I didn't want to be an ass.

Imperial March.
I use to play that in college as I walked to class. That and the soundtrack to Conan.
I'd pick "Dying Freedom" by Paradise Lost. The intro is a short keyboard bit that reminds me of Chris Kanyon's WCW intro, and then it's just high tempo enough to get me going.
Since the band's probably off everyone's radar, here you go:
