What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I’m not sure what I want to play this weekend. Deus Ex: Human Revolution should definitely be getting more attention from me. My Driver: San Francisco review is done, but I want to play more multiplayer now that real people have the game. Quarrel Deluxe and Civilization: Revolution are still getting daily play on my iPad 2. So many choices!

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. Probably MK and Brutal Legend.

It would be more MK if Big Blak wasn't so scared to accept my challenge in Mortal Kombat.

    1. Oooooooooooooh! Them fight'n words.

Man, I wish more games had a "spectator mode" so people can jump in and see the matches. I would actually like to watch this.

@Big Blak; are yinz just gonna sit there and take that from a Yinzer up'er n'at?

      1. Thanks. I figured if you could learn Spanish ("¡No cordones de energia… no comprar!") I could brush up on my Pittsburghese. I can tell you that it is a much harder language to learn than Spanish, though… and this is coming from someone who picked up Klingon in just a few hours.

P.S.- Personally, I would have gone with "¡No cordones que se brochan solo… no comprar!"

  2. Probably not much gaming with football being back. Im tempted to DL the MK arcade trilogy for xbl but i dont have any points yet. I'll probably try to rent dead island again from redbox too

  3. *in low, raspy voice*) I'm Batman.

I'm really liking the Riddler's riddles in the game more than anything else. I like that a lot of riddles are something only bat-fans would be able to solve. The character bios you unlock, however, make you see how crappy some of the bat-villans are that you wanted desperately to forget about (Calandar Man, anyone?). The audio logs are great. After I beat this game, I am definitely going to buy Grant Morrison’s Arkham Asylum graphic novel. The only downside is that after a while, you begin to see a pattern in the riddles and they become easier to solve (but not find). Also, the Riddler maps kind of spoil everything since they tell you where everything is.

The game itself, so far, is pretty good too. I still hate the damn camera work on third-person action games, however. It's not as bad as in some others, but it still a flaw. Lastly, the voice of Batman is mediocre at best. Kevin Conroy is still the best bat-voice actor. Still, they could make an awesome movie about this game from what I’ve played so far.

      1. Nevermind. I just looked up the cast of the game and appearantly, Kevin Conroy IS the voice actor in the game. So, appearantly, it's all in my head. I guess that nostalgia coulds my impartiality. Egg on my face, up’er n’at.

      2. Not necessarily egg on your face. I wasn't sure if you thought it was another actor or if Conroy had a bad performance. I thought he was good, but I give him a ton of leeway. Perhaps you didn't think it was one of his better performances. That's entirely possible. He can't knock it out of the park every time.
