Deus Ex: Human Revolution — The Clothing Line

Square Enix, Eidos Montreal, and musterbrand have teamed up for a clothing line inspired by Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Aimed to be a cut above the standard videogame t-shirts, this premium clothing line includes a trench coat, jeans, and a bandanna in addition to t-shirts. Here’s more from musterbrand CEO Knut Jochen Bergel:

Standard logoed T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats are the norm. musterbrand’s clothing lines are designed by top stylists, woven from the highest quality material, and cut so sharply they should come with a warning. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is already drawing praise for its unique design and playability — we’re aiming to replicate the game’s popularity with our clothing line too.

These Deus Ex: Human Revolution threads look really cool…but are probably too cool for me. I’m more of a sports coat and jeans guy. I don’t think I’m ready for clothes that are “cut so sharply they should come with a warning”. That could be dangerous.

How about you? Any interest in Deus Ex: Human Revolution clothing by musterbrand?

      1. Na. I'm a $30 Old Navy jeans guy. Most of the week I wear docker's.

I do like Ralph Lauren's shirts though. They don't shrink too much and the collars aren't mangled after some age.

      2. I'm a Dickies guy. Jeans get too hot out here and I found I liked Dickies the best on stage for various reasons. Mainly because they can pass for semi-formal, I can load my gear without worrying too much about them, and then the comfortable fit.

As for shirts… I switch between either something black with buttons or one of my many eclectic T-shirts.

      3. Compared to the other things I see people spending ridiculous amounts of money on, I hardly think $70 on a pair of quality jeans (emphasis on quality, that part is of course a dealbreaker) is too much.

      4. I have a feeling that they aren't as quality as a normal pair of $70 Jeans. These jeans have that "collector" value to them so they up the price. If the game flops, you'll be able to get them for what they are really worth. If it's a hit, you'd be making an investment.

Bare in mind that not only are there videogame and memorabilia collectors (like some of us), but there is a large, global community of people who collect blue jeans. These aint no Levi Redlines, but one of those guys may bite.

      5. Yeah that's why I stressed the quality being important. My jeans come from aeropostale for two reasons. They last reasonably well, and they are one of the few places where I can find a 30×34. I would buy jeans from Buckle because I like their quality, but the cheapest ones start at $70 and I don't make enough money to buy those right now.

Video game memorabilia does get some collectors, so they could be worth picking up for that reason. But you are right jean collectors are a better bet. I've never actually met someone who collects jeans though, only heard of them.

  1. It would be nice to have some video game clothing, or video game inspired clothing, that is actually good quality. I wouldn't be opposed to any of the clothing I've seen on the website so far except that I wear difficult sizes, and I wouldn't wear their clothing if it didn't fit how anything else I wear does.

      1. Yeah American Apparel clothing is quality. That is also something I would wear, but I like the look of the Deus Ex line as well.

    1. I noticed that publishers tend to put out good quality hoodies when they do clothing merch. Especially the zip-ups.

Everything else might as well be a one-off. I wonder if this is different in Japan? They would TOTALLY pay $70 for those jeans over there.

As for say, formal clothes… I seriously doubt I would ever show up in court or go to somebody's wedding and/or funeral (marriage joke) wearing Pikachu on my shirt. Ya know?

  2. I shop at TJ Max, I'm a cheap bastard when it comes to buying clothing. Actually just this weekend I got a pair of jeans for $30 and thought that cost too much, turns out they were Buffalo Jeans (never heard of it til Sunday) and the tag on them bad boys was $109.99! Eff that!

    1. Haha. I spend money on lots of extraneous and or dumb shit…but I'm not dropping a C note on a pair of jeans.

This past week I bought a lego darth vader alarm clock.
