My gaming weekend will be disc free. There are three downloadable games that I intend play the hell out of. First up is Groove Coaster on my iPad. This stylish and cool music game is currently on sale and it’s completely awesome. Rez fans should definitely check it out, as well as gamers that are curious to see what tripping out is like without having to take drugs.
Bastion should get a big chunk of my time this weekend too. If you dig action-RPGs and originality then I recommend giving it a whirl.
Last, but not least, is Final Fantasy Tactics for iOS. This version is optimized for the iPhone and iPod Touch, but that probably won’t stop me from playing it on my iPad. And yes, I’ll definitely be picking up the iPad version when that comes out. This is my favorite game of all time, after all.
How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?
I think I am going to play AC:BH because the new one is coming soon and I need to beat it.
League of Legends. I'm way too hooked on this game.
Now you guys have a two real running backs with Sproles and Ingram instead of that poser Bush. I fear the Saints run game now.
How do you feel that Atl was supposedly in the market for Bush?
Saints are gonna be beastly this year barring injuries. Tough D and should be a juggernaut on O.
@ ALL
I really want a Mac for multimedia purposes but can't/don't want to pay a couple Gs. I am thinking of going with a Mac mini because I have everything else to make it a desktop. Does anyone have any opinions on this, have you heard anything or used a Mac mini?
We use one as a server for iOS SDK. They are great little machines. The new models pack quite the punch with Sandybridge. You will need an external optical drive though. Do it.
Yea I looked into the optical drives and they are pretty cheap online. I was 90% sure of the purchase and I like your opinions on pretty much everything so now its a definite purchase.
With Sandybridge they are a great option for your purposes. When you consider you have a monitor already and do not mind having an external optical drive I can't fault your logic of considering one. I appreciate your faith in my choices lol.
I'd consider going with a model that has a bit more RAM than the base. I'm not sure if you can add it after market or not. Other than that, buy away!!
I mostly agree with Smartguy because I think the Mini has as many ports as an iMac. The ports are important for midis. Expanding ports sucks no matter what.
You're gonna hate this… but ideally (and I stress ideally) you want one of the quad-cores or 8-cores for what you are doing. Those are the ones that come in the towers and are twice as expensive as iMacs. The CPU power and RAM you have, the better.
As for the external drive… I would get one of those burners that burn like 8 copies of the same disc at once. Those things are getting cheaper and cheaper as CDs become more and more outdated.
SG & N8
I am definitely going to upgrade to 4gb of RAM 8 will be in a few months, no question. I've got a midi keyboard, HDTV, mouse and keyboard. I am ready to start making music again!
N8R I am going to slowly build my way to a Mac Pro but I must crawl before I walk.
I think the i5 will do fine. Thunderbolt will also be super awesome for expansion.
Yea that Thunderbolt stuff blew my mind as I learned more about it.
Yeah it's a nice piece of technology that's for sure. That sandybridge i5 is a great chip. Quad core. The i7 is a quad as well, but it can use 4 additional virtual cores. N8 pulls a great point about the Mac Pros being what you want ultimately, but if you are wanting to spend less than 1G, you can't go wrong here.
I'm envious. I want a new computer now.
And I am envious of your Man Cave lol.
Should I get 2.3GHz or 2.5GHz processor ?
Should I get a 2.3GHz or 2.5GHz processor ?
That would be a dual core not a quad for the Mac mini.
The 2.5 has more ram and an AMD Radeon. Not too shabby. Worth 200 to you? I think the speed difference will be nominal.
No it isn't considering that I'm going to upgrade the RAM to 8gbs for $50.

Sorry for my absence guys, I found a new job but it has me traveling most of the time. I'm home for this weekend so I'll get a little Infamous 2 in maybe. I'll be taking my PS3 on the road with me from now on. I hope I can get online in the hotel.
You're the only person I know that has ever apologized for having a job. LOL! Congratz. What's the new job?
Please don't answer that question if you're a hitman.

Lol. The traveling part of the gig huh?
What if he's a SOX auditor? (man if anyone else gets this!)
I know enough to know that the SOX you are referring to is the Sarbanes-Oxley Act that was passed like 10 years ago after the whole Enron, WorldCom, Tyco, Adelphia accounting scandal broke out. I think it was meant to keep CEOs and CFOs straight or something. I think the only reason I know that is because my wife is a tax accountant.
You may have to explain the joke, however, since I don't get it just based on the references.

If you make it out to Cali… hit me up.
If u make it out to chicago or if anyone of you sll make it out here let me know
If u make it out to chicago or if anyone of you all make it out here let me know
Hey Tokz, I'm near Chicago, but I already let you know when I'm about to be in the city.
I thought you already knew, but you just said to let you know so I was merely following instructions :) haha!
Still playing Retribution, but I'm going to try and put some time aside to play AC:BH as well. I have had it from from gamefly for a couple months and really touched and that needs to change.
Working on Operation Anchorage in Fallout 3. It's pretty cool so far, but not being able to loot bodies is throwing me off. After that, I'll see if I can find N8's old house in The Pitt. I've never been to Philadelphia before, so I figure that the Fallout 3 game expansion will give me a pretty good idea of the kind of place Pittsburgh is and the kind of people that live there. Just like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City showed you exactly what downtown Miami and Miami Beach was like in the 80's.
-M
There were only 3 parts of the Pitt that were reminiscent of home for me:
At the very beginning, you walk through a rail yard thing, take out some raiders, go through the gate, take out like 2 or 3 more dude, and then you hit the Hot Metal Bridge. The skyline from this angle is spot on (with a post apocalyptic twist of course).
Then the building you are working towards the whole time (I think it's called Haven in the game)… that is the Cathedral of Learning on Pitt campus. I knew a guy that jumped off the real one when I was in 10th grade. It's actually a popular place for college kids to kill themselves.
And the third is the Troggs. Troggs are the spitting image of the residents of Turtle Creek PA (a suburb of Pittsburgh).
Some black ops, possibly some dead rising 2, and maybe some killer instinct if i can find my game.
I'm really wanting to start playing Pokemon more again, so I might have to pick up my DSi this weekend. My wife and I are still just trying to relax a little bit before she heads back to work. Of course I am now doing some work on the weekends (long crappy nighttime hours) at a country club, but other than that I'm still looking for full time work. We might play some Left 4 Dead tomorrow, but today was the county fair and way too much fried food. The fried snickers bar was fantastic and I know have a deep craving for these things.
I was told to report for duty this coming week, and although that's not the weekend, it is still on my playlist.
