Today’s Poll: Will You Buy a 3DS at $169.99?

Now that the Nintendo 3DS price cut has been announced, I wanted to see if any of you were planning to pick one up. It’s a neat little system with a bright gaming future, but its launch has been somewhat…unimpressive. Perhaps a price cut will make it seem exciting and new (think Love Boat). What do you think? Kindly take today’s poll and expand on your purchasing decision in the comments section!

  1. Still not sure.

It depends on whether or not I can convince my kids and wife that they don't want one and the money is better spent on waterslides.

  2. It's a much better deal, but there still isn't a non-port game on it I'd want to buy.
I have plenty of other portable games waiting to be played; I use my iPhone a whole lot; and I'm trying not to spend as much money right now.

  3. This just makes me want one even more! And it also increases my chances of being able to afford one sometime sooner, but there is a chance I will be convinced to wait for this and just get it for my birthday. That's the bad thing about having my birthday so close to Christmas, I get plenty of things then, but the wait all year is brutal.

  4. I'm really tempted to get it now because of the VCs that i heard rumored will only be available to the early adopters and may never be offered be again unless i read it wrong.

  5. The wife plays the handhelds in our house. I'm not a fan of the small screens. At $249.99 she thought they were insane. At $179.99, she's more contemplative. I think she'll probably need one more price drop and/or a few more quality games to come out for her to bite though.

IN honesty, the 3D tech isn't a big selling point for either of us. She's already saying that if she buys one she'll probably just turn the 3D off. So it's all about the titles, and there's no point in buying one until some better games come out (although a bunch of good looking ones have been announced).
