What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I have a bunch of video editing to do this weekend. Since my PC is not up for the challenge, there will be a lot of rebooting. This will give me time to play Final Fantasy III and NBA Jam on my iPad 2. It’s such an awesome entertainment device — great for games, Netflix, music, and more. I’ll probably buy an external keyboard and Pages so that it’s not all fun and games. My other devices are getting jealous and want to see the iPad do some work too.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. I know what I WON'T be playing….

I'll probably be playing hockey unless Iceman got DR2 and is down for some zombie onslaught.

    1. N8,

I e-mailed the guy and just heard back from him today. He said he shipped the game on Tuesday, so hopefully it will be in the mail by today or tomorrow.

      (*fingers crossed*)

  2. Just spent $700 I didn't have for new brakes for the wife's car…..so I don't think I'll be playing much of anything new, that's for sure….

      1. Perhaps. Right now I'm still pretty pissed though, because apparently the dealership we bought our car from just slapped new pads on (onto the wrong front wheels no less, so they were effectively upside down) and left crappy worn out rotors on the car. I'm surprised they didn't fail outright.

      1. It's probably a GM. Kinda close though if you think about it lol.

appr $500 to do brakes on my truck with remachined rotors. If I had to buy brand new rotors…yeah that would be closer to 1k. As it is on most GMs and Fords you have to buy a whole assembly for bearings which is stupid expensive.

      2. Damn for my birthday last year I bought myself new brakes. 4 new rotors, 2 new front calipers and brakes all around and that was only $350. Gotta love a Dodge.

    1. @smartguy Have you tried the new version of AVPlayerHD? It's pretty excellent on the iPad. Obviously it's not as good as playing videos on a PC, but I through a few 720p mkv files at it and the playback was great on three out of four. The one file that didn't play well was a boxing fight — sound and picture looked good, but the playback could have been smoother.

  3. @Ray
I'll check it out. I snagged vlc before it was removed and find that it freezes sporadically. Alas no updates.

  4. I do have to say that Monopoly Streets is the most aggressive and competitive online game I have ever played.

Forget the guns and grenades, the lightning-fast cars or the rocket launchers; those chicks that play monopoly are friggin' brutal, man! They are more cut-throat and vicious than any guy I've ever met playing Halo, Gears, Bioshock or any other shooter for that matter.

  5. I will be helping my aunt move for the first time in her life. Other than that, I am working on my second play-through of Dragon Age

: Origins finally. All the updates they have done since the last time I played have improved quite a few things. (Like load times) I was going to tinker with the mod tools, but it can't find my GA:O on my PC and won't work otherwise…

    1. Good luck with that move, Sandrock.

I'll be looking forward to seeing you on the show "Hoarders"
