Nintendo 3DS American Launch Lineup

According to Nintendo of America, the company will have more than 30 games for the Nintendo 3DS’ launch window — a conveniently concocted term that covers the period from the 3DS’ March 27 launch to E3 2011. Here’s more information from the press release:

During the launch window (between the March 27 launch date and the E3 Expo in early June) more than 30 games will be available to Nintendo 3DS owners. These include Nintendo-created games like Pilotwings Resort, which has players soaring acrobatically over iconic Wuhu Island; nintendogs + cats, a new version of the Nintendo DS classic with a feline enhancement; and Steel Diver, a side-scrolling submarine adventure that gives the illusion that the player is peering into an aquarium. Other Nintendo 3DS games in the works include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising and new installments in the Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Paper Mario series.

Nintendo 3DS also enjoys some of the strongest third-party support of any system launch. A partial list of titles coming soon to Nintendo 3DS includes Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked from Atlus; Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D from Capcom; Madden NFL Football from EA SPORTS; The Sims 3 from Electronic Arts; Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D from Konami; LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars from LucasArts; Ridge Racer 3D and Dual Pen Sports from Namco Bandai Games America Inc.; Super Monkey Ball 3D, Thor: God of Thunder and CRUSH 3D from SEGA; BUST-A-MOVE UNIVERSE from Square Enix, Inc.; Samurai Warriors Chronicles and Dead or Alive Dimensions from Tecmo Koei America Corp.; and Asphalt 3D, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3D, Rayman 3D and Rabbids Travel in Time from Ubisoft.

I’m all about the first-party games, as well as Dead or Alive and Street Fighter. And you? Which Nintendo 3DS launch games have your attention?

  1. I always wanted to try a Super Monkey Ball game, so maybe I will on this system. Also Starfox 64 is something I will most likely pick up as well. I have loved all of the Starfox games that I have played, and am looking forward to this one (again). Also I might actually *ahem* finish Ocarina of Time *ahem*…mostly I will be playing Pokemon Black/White though.

    1. Ugh… Ok, I'm not going to judge. I'm just going to sit here and politely ask which part you got stuck on.

Was it the Forrest Temple? The Water Temple, maybe? Everyone always gets stuck in the Water Temple.

      1. I never got stuck, but every time I started playing it I just wanted to go back and play the original- so I did. I can't even remember how many times I have played the original. I later went on to play my friend's copy of Twilight Princess on the Wii, and I blasted through that game. Unfortunately I never finished it completely because he got a bunch of corrupted files (and lost his save as well). That one was pretty easy for me though. I was always just a handheld gamer for such a long time that I never really went back and played some of the games I never got to or didn't beat before.

  2. I might not buy this at launch since the games I want will be along shortly there after. Might hold out til June.

      1. That's one reason I am wanting this on launch day instead of having to wait until after the wedding this summer like Tokz and I were talking about in a different article.

    1. Does he feel like the 3DS will sell because it is a Nintendo handheld, or because it seems like some of the premier 3D tech on the market? It is affordable and doesn't require the annoying glasses that everything else seems to.

I feel like I am wanting to buy it in spite of the 3D, but maybe there will be plenty of people who buy it because of the 3D.

    2. @rpad

I read that gameboy and gameboy color games will be made available to download on nintendo's e-shop, are these games going to have the ability to be viewed/played in 3-D as well?

    3. It's my birthday… Where's my present?

      Kidding…

When does he think the next gen of consoles will launch?

      1. i can't believe you brought it up. I unfortunately was bored at work and was on the Hulu website and saw that they had the first episode online. I watched 10 mins of it, how in the f*@& did this show get picked up!!! it's not funny and bolivia's lack of acting makes it worse. i don't see this show getting picked up at all.

      2. I knew nothing about it until now. I was blissfully in the dark.

Thanks for pointing it out though.

  3. *snicker*

    1. I couldn't even make it through the 4 minute promo. I heard before that the show was not funny, but wow…I was still expecting a little more than that- ok I lied- a LOT more than that.

However, if making my dog bark like that woke my fiance up and made her move from the middle of the bed during the night like that I would totally try it. However, once she is out she is not waking up until the morning (even when she wakes up in the middle of the night she is never actually fully awake and doesn't remember it the next day).
