Will Ferrell and Manny Pacquiao Butcher “Imagine”

John Lennon is one of my favorite people that ever existed. I enjoy Will Ferrell’s comedy. Although I don’t particularly like his boxing style, I enjoy watching Manny Pacquiao fight and I’m proud of what he means to the Philippines. All that said, it was kind of painful to watch Ferrell and Pacquiao butcher John Lennon’s “Imagine” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Ferrell was hamming it up and can actually sing better than this. Pacquiao is under the delusion that he’s a good singer. The whole thing ended up being unintentionally funny…and wince inducing.

  1. this was funny. i love the karaoke vid transitions and was manny reading the lyrics from a big prompter. you figure he would've learned some of it before he went on air. also, John Lennon was one of my favorite people in the world that ever existed too!

  2. I'm the guy that rocked a Mark David Chapman avatar with an American flag waiving behind it on the day Beatles Rock Band came out.

I think Lennon and McCartney were both stellar songwriters… but I believe their performances left more to be desired.

    Just my opinion though.

    1. their performances on their own or together as the Beatles?

i really don't like Paul as much as John. He was trying to make the world a better place and didn't deserve to get murdered. ( No one deserves to get murdered, ok maybe those d*cks at DirectTv but besides that no one.)

      1. Both really… except for George Harrison's solo work. That stuff was cool.

My argument is that I have heard MANY other performers do Beatles songs and liked them way better than the Beatles versions.

I mean, Elvis' version of "Something" is incredible and Joe Cocker smoked "Have a Little Help From My Friends".

        and… Paul is a douche.

John was a pretty cool guy it seems, and your right, nobody deserves to get murdered… or cancer… or an overdose while sitting on the toilet.

    2. Jay Mohr did a funny bit about him and his kids fighting over who gets to play what in The Beatles Rock Band. Nobody wanted to play drums, so he pointed out that the band is dying in order of coolness.
