Apple Gives Official Statement on iPhone 4 Reception Issues

Apple has released an official statement on the iPhone 4 reception issues that some users have been complaining about. I think it’s pretty hilarious. Check it out:

Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.

I agree with RPadholic smartguy — Apple should be giving away its “bumper” cases for free if they really clear up the issue. Now don’t get me wrong, I still think the iPhone 4 is an impressive piece of hardware, but Apple’s “solution” to this problem cracks me up.

  1. I got to play with 2 of these last night. They feel very solid and it is snappy. But I pissed the guy off when I changed his background to white and revealed the "Pee Stains" on both of his phones. He was having issues with holding his phone properly but said it was worth it to have the new iPhone.

  2. The annoying part is that the problem is usually in the lower-left corner of the phone, which means lefties are having more issues with it. I'm lefty. Gah!!! Maybe Apple will tell me that being a lefty is wrong and I should hold phones with my right hand.

  3. I hold the phone in my left hand cradle it with my left pinky finger. So the left side of the phone will be against my thumb while the bottom most left touches the base of my thumb. I guess this will give me a shit signal while trying to use the internet on it. I need to find out. Otherwise that Droid X sounds interesting.
