I know you’re all looking forward to what’s new with Nintendo’s Vitality Sensor at E3 2010, but MCV has speculated on something a wee bit more interesting — a PSP2 announcement! According to its sources, heavy marketing dollars from two Sony publishers are being allocated for Q4 2010 and they might be used to support games for new hardware:
MCV has been informed of a significant increase in marketing spend at two key publishers for Q4 2010. At a time when the PSP is languishing in Western markets — and its most recent iteration, the PSPgo, is falling flat — it is being speculated that publishers are laying the ground for an offensive on a brand new iteration of Sony’s handheld.
The way E3 is shaping up, you pretty much know what’s going down on the hardware side. You have Sony’s PlayStation Move, Microsoft Project Natal, Nintendo’s 3DS, and the Wii Vitality Sensor you all love. A PSP2 announcement would be a most welcomed and very intriguing surprise. The timing is about right, but do you think it will happen? Speculate people (please)!
Throw in that second analog and we will talk.
wait! Nintendo is going to show off their vitality sensor!!!! I want to know more. The only way the PSP deux will be by ummm i don't think they will. I don't play mobile games as much and when i do my DS is the best so far. I had a PSP but sold it because i didn't like the look and feel of it in my hands……that's what she said!
I remember all the comments on G4tv.com complaining about the PSPgo's lack of dual analog. It would have been remarkably stupid from a development standpoint to do it on the PSPgo. It makes much more sense on a PSP2.
@tokz
Actually she's never said that. ZING!
Wait a minute. I thought the PSP Go WAS the PSP2. So does that mean sony has two different varieties of handhelds? Why can't you combine them into one machine? Does this mean there will be a PSP Go 2?
Damnit, Sony, why must you play these mind games?

I guess the PSPgo is a flop then. GG sony…gg.
It seems like Sony has taken a page out of the Nintendo handbook on this one.
@Iceman The PSPgo was never the PSP2. It runs the same games as the PSP. It's just a different iteration. Think of it like this:
PSPgo is to PSP
as
DS Lite is to DS
Dang its just a give ME what I asked for day today. First it was built-in tethering on Android and now the PSP2. I mentioned both earlier in the week.
I hope they do a complete revamp and bring out a great piece of hardware and not a piece of $h1t.
