Final Fantasy VII Confirmed for Fall 2011 for Xbox 360 in Japan

Square Enix finally confirmed the highly anticipated remake for Final Fantasy VII. The game has been in development for about a year and will be released in Fall 2011 for Xbox 360 in Japan. European and North American release dates haven’t been announced. In a prepared statement, superlative producer Tetsuya Nomura said:

We’re tired of hearing about this god damn game. It’s not even that good. Hell, Final Fantasy XIII is way better and white people around the world have been panning it because they don’t know what they’re talking about. Honestly, I’m just working on VII so everyone will shut the hell up about the damn remake.

Pretty crazy, hey?

Update April 2: Yes, this was an April Fools’ Day post.

  1. Even if it is an April Fool's joke (which it probably is), it's still pretty funny.

    By the way, the biggest tell was the "coming to Japan for the Xbox 360" part. If it wasn't for that, I may have actually fallen for it. Of course, everybody knows there's no such thing as Japanese people playing on Xbox 360.

    I got the book "the marketing of evil" and started it today, very interesting read so far!

    also the other tell was that Rpad posted something like last month saying that they would not release an HD version of it because it would cost more money to make or something along those lines.

  4. @ Bsukenyan;

    Careful with that book. Once you read it, you can’t un-read it. The things that David (Kupelian) writes about are pretty hardcore.

    Yeah the topics definitely are pretty intense, but it is interesting to read all of that information in one place. This book, like a lot of other things I study in anthropology, seems to be all about what light you look at things in. It’s just about your mindset on things, and that is what makes subjective topics so volatile.
