Today is Ric Flair’s 61st Birthday — Whoooooooo!!!

“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is 61 today! Whoooooooo!!! Flair is the best pro-wrestler I’ve ever seen and is a living legend. There are so many brilliant Ric Flair moments (spanning four decades!). While his “retirement” match with Shawn Michaels is fresh on my mind, I’m going to go with the Ric Flair vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat matches in the NWA as my fondest memories of ‘Naitch.

What are your favorite memories of the stylin’, profilin’, limousing-riding, jet-flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin’-dealin’ son-of-a-gun known as Ric Flair?

  3. I first heard about Ric Flair reading wrestling magazines as a kid. They went on and on about his feud with Larry Zybisko. I think I first saw him on TV when the Horsemen fought the Von Erichs (one of those times), but I'm not sure.

    My favorite memories all revolve around the way he sold moves. Nobody has ever been able to take a slap to the chest like Ric Flair. I also loved how he would take 2 steps and fall straight on his face. Classic.

    In another event:

    I was checking out the video that Smartguy posted and started tooling around the other videos. I came across this guy:

    He's a Lucha named Aero Star. I had never heard of him and was so impressed by this video I checked him out on Wikipedia. The fact that he's never publicly revealed his real name in this day and age is awesome in my book. This dude has crazy talent.

  4. What can I say about the 16-time world champ that hasn't been said before. I don't remember when was the first time I saw living legend but I loves his vignettes/interviews the most. I wish he would enjoy his retirement but I know it's hard to be away from the spotlight after being in it for so long. Happy 61st bday natch! Whooooooooo!

  5. I loved his times with the Horsemen the most. He always wore a suit, AA, Zbyisko, and Windham were always in wrestling trunks. They cheated all the time. Loved it.

  6. I remembered today was Thursday and watched a little bit of tna. I saw where aj and flair run in to beat down abyss. Well hogan comes out to help and well the exchange didn’t go so well. Age is quickly catching up with hogan and flair. They missed spots and bumps. It was so horrible I changed the channel So I wouldn’t soil the memories of them in my head.
