This Week’s Videogame Releases

Everyone could use a few more god-killers in their lives. This week Sony is providing a double dose in God of War: Origins. This compilation contains HD remasters of Kratos’ adventures in Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. I know that a few of you are hockey fans and not Canadian (very strange), so I imagine that NHL 12 is a big deal for you. White Knight Chronicles II isn’t getting the hype of the original, but it looks better in several areas. Lastly, Nintendo fans can get tripping with Bit.Trip Complete (Wii) and Bit.Trip Saga (3DS).

Anyone picking up new games this week?

  1. Probably nothing this week. I’m seeing some ads on ur site, does this mean that if we buy things for bizrate you’ll get a piece of the pie like ur old amazon pushing days??

  2. No. The Wii is useless to me besides Netflix and occasional Smash Bros matches, and I don't own a 3DS. Or a PS3. Or an Xbox 360. Not even an original Xbox.

    … Wow. I'm pathetic.

    1. you're on an awesome site where we talk about all kinds of things, video games only being a part of that. if you are on here you can't be classified as pathetic.

  3. I'm really wanting to pick up Dead Island, but lack of money for that is stopping me. I really like the game though and am waiting for another day or two where I can play and for it to be available at Redbox again. It's been sold out everywhere I check.

    1. I just watched a review that states this; while the cutscenes aren't that great, the opening is bad, and some bugs plague the game (one which halts progression completely if it comes up), the gameplay is riveting. The sound effects add tension. The game uses a Fallout 3-ish system of skill trees, looting, and missions, and was praised for having a large and varied world to explore. They also mentioned that the game was less buggy/laggy on the Xbox 360.

So, eat your face out. Or rather, keep them from eating yours ; )
