Dragon Age: Origins Return to Ostagar DLC Available for Xbox 360

The Return to Ostagar DLC for the excellent Dragon Age: Origins is now available for Xbox Live for 400 Microsoft Points! I just downloaded the 134.11MB content and will start playing as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I have a really cool interview at noon on a product I recently wrote about, but expect a (not a) review by tomorrow at the latest.

  1. I just played through both the Mass Effect DLCs last night for the first time. They were pretty good with one being a story driven DLC and the other being an action oriented DLC. I'm very interested in how this DLC turns out, but I'll have to wait to see.

It isn't balanced at all, but I enjoyed the simple objective game modes. Makes for a nice break from the rest of the game. (not that you need one, but still welcomed)

  3. that's funny, I was wondering why my game updated this morning when i turned it on. I looked for DLC at the time but maybe it was added a little later. at any rate, I'm looking forward to it

  4. Beat it. Took roughly an hour. I enjoyed it, but thought it would have made a nicer sidequest while playing the full game then a full DLC pack. The new special weapons and armor are mostly lesser then what someone who's already beaten the game would have. But if I were to play the full game through from start to finish again, I would probable really enjoy this quest as part of the greater package.

Really, it's kinda the same way I felt about the Bring Down the Sky DLC for Mass Effect….and I did really enjoy playing that as just part of the game much more than as a DLC pack.

it's cool. I wasn't passing judgment. We are grown men and spend our money how we so choose. I just couldn't purchase a 1 hour DLC that probably could have or was in the original cut.

It's the accountant in me, I expect 4-5 hours if $60 got you 60 hours.

  6. @Smartguy: I expect most games to give me 10-20 hours of entertainment. Considering I played Dragon Age though 4 full times at roughly 60hrs each, I feel I got my money's worth and throwing a couple of bucks away on a small DLC I'll probably play a couple more times as part of a full playthrough doesn't bother me. Compared to other DLC packs that offer a similar amount of content for twice the price (I'm looking at you, SW:TFU), I consider it a bargain.

under those circumstances I understand and agree to a point.

I'm pretty disappointed at Brutal Legend DLC. Loved the game but can't throw money on the DLC.
