Trophy Support for Final Fantasy XIII Confirmed

Final Fantasy XIII a

Square Enix director Motomu Toriyama has confirmed trophy support for Final Fantasy XIII for PlayStation 3. IGN translated some of his word in an interview with Famitsu:

Toriyama also shared some technical details on the game. Save data will take up 500KB. Trophy data takes up 3,080KB (yes, it looks like the game supports Trophies!). In case you were stocking up munitions for a big system wars battle, there won’t be a hard disk installation.

Trophies are always welcomed, but I found it odd that there won’t be a hard-drive option. If it decreases load times and optical-disc access, I’ll always go with that option. Curious, eh?

  1. does MS require achievements. I know I haven't played a game that didn't have them. I will admit though when the 360 launced the developers didn't put a lot of thought in to them. beat level 1, 2, 3… beat level 1, 2, 3, on hard… lol those days it was easy to rack up 1000 points

  2. @shockewave yeah some of those games were nice to boost your gamerscore with, but that was also partially because it was such a different idea that people did not really understand the concept. Unlike now where a few months ago GameInformer magazine did a pretty good and interesting article about how to make good and bad achievements.

and i believe i read the article right, but trophies are not required for ps3 games…??

  3. not to start an argument…but i prefer the point system over the trophy system. at least i can see the points next to my name. i have to look for the trophies or maybe Sony should change it up and display how many of each color i have next to my user name. that would be welcomed. i know it is nitpicky, but hell i earned them…so show'em.

  4. @Ray

Thanks. It's just something that you can see. i don't have to go anywhere to see them. I like that. Let me see my award if you will lol.

  5. I am glad it will support trophies. I am def getting this on PS3 because of the 1 Blu-Ray Disc compared to the 3 DVDs on the 360…just comes down to me being lazy. I am sure Square Enix will through something extra to Sony anyways. They usually do.

  6. Ok. He said they usually do and I was wondering what I was missing from previous releases.
