Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” Revealed

Michael Jackson’s single “This Is It” was released through his official site. The song kicks off a series of posthumous works from the King of Pop. Coming October 26 is an album called This Is It, a This Is It movie on October 28, and a vinyl release on November 10 (guess what it’s called).

Jackson wrote and recorded several songs that he wanted released after his death. The rumor was that he wanted to beat out Tupac in posthumous sales. (Okay, I totally made that last part up.)

Let me know what you think of the song. I need to listen to it about a dozen more times before I can form an opinion. I’m sure the single will top the charts and the album will do crazy numbers, but I’ll always prefer the Off the Wall and Thriller days.

  1. Not to be confused with the Huey Lewis classic "If This Is It"

(I don't think you have to worry about taking out the spaces)

  2. @N8R Huey Lewis is extremely underrated. One of the best geek parties I ever went to was a Computer Shopper party at Comdex. Steven Wright opened up with some comedy and Huey Lewis & the News closed the show. Bill Gates was actually dancing (surrounded by bodyguards).

  3. You don't have to convince me, dude. His band was amazing, his vocals are spot on, the lyrics are meaningful and timeless, I could kiss his ass all day.

"They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating

And from what Ive seen I believe em

Now the old boy may be barely breathing

But the heart of rock and roll, heart of rock and roll is still beating"

  4. Why does everyone feel the need to talk about Michael Jackson as if he is some great person? While I admit, his stuff in the 80's was good..MAYBE even fantastic, he quickly lost all respect from me with the allegations that followed him for many years. even on the remote chance he never did anything to those kids, he sill acted inappropriately, regardless of his lack of childhood or any other bogus excuse..

  5. @Hrolf To me, he's a person that made some great music. He certainly had flaws — some of the alleged ones are pretty disgusting — but I still enjoy a lot of his work. It's the same for Roman Polanski; what he did was deplorable, but I still enjoyed many of his movies.
