This Week’s Videogame Releases

A trio of interesting games hits store shelves this week. Leading the way is Resident Evil 6, which has been met with mixed reviews. Some critics are loving the game while others are kind of “meh” on it. It’s almost time for NBA basketball! To help you get ready for some NBA action, which by the way is fantastic, is NBA 2K13. The PlayStation Vita gets the next installment of one of the most underrated and under-appreciated games this console generation in New Little King’s Story. Hopefully Vita fans give this game some love.

Any of you picking up new games this week?

  1. I was thinking about getting 2k13 but i think i’ll wait for it to drop. Bide my time for halo 4 and black ops 2

  2. Nothing for me this week. My next purchase is Pokemon White 2 next Sunday. By the time this question is asked next week I will hopefully have quite a few hours logged. Other than that I’m not really looking to purchase anything other than Halo 4 (probably). I’m now also (im)patiently awaiting GTA5, so I’m playing The Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony currently.

      1. That’s what I’ve heard, and why I’m starting with Lost and the Damned. I won’t enjoy it if I play Ballad of Gay Tony first. How long are these games though? How long did they take you to complete the main story lines, I should ask?

      2. You’re not going to enjoy LATD at all regardless of whether or not you play BOGT… (especially THAT cut scene that you’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it; just make sure you wife is around when you’re playing LATD).

They are about 20 missions in LATD, peppered with some optional bike races and gang war stuff. The missions are standard m.o. for grand theft auto, meaning that if you don’t breeze by the missions the first time, then you’ll know where the enemies spawn and what you have to do to make it easier on the second go-around. It should take you around 10 to 15 hours depending on the side missions and how much of a completionist you are. Hunting seagulls will take you forever if you are not using a guide.

BOGT has more missions (I think), but the real fun is getting a perfect score on all the missions (well, fun except for like 1 or 2 that will seem impossible to score 100% on). The thing with BOGT is that it is more colorful and varied. Again, depending on if you want to 100% everything, you’re looking at about 10-20 hours or so. Getting 100% on some of those missions will drive you nuts, especially the helicopter one.
