Here’s some space for RPadholic N8R to share his DICE 2011 experience. When we last left our hero, he was eating lunch with renowned gaming analysts Michael Pachter and Jesse Divnich, Spike TV’s Geoff Keighley, GameFly senior vice president Sean Spector, G4’s Adam Sessler, and more.
Take it away N8R!
Give me time guys, there's alot going on. I'll give a detailed field report later when the day is done.
I will take this time to say that I demoed Killzone 3… with Move… and in 3D… 3D gaming is DEFINITELY not for me. It didn't really seem to work. I basically just saw double of what was on the screen.
If I wanted to game like that, I'd pop a sleeping pill and drink a six pack.
LMFAO!
that's a hell of a lot cheaper than what Kaz is trying to sell you hehe.
…. Maybe Sony should try to brand and market their own private-label beer and sleeping pills.

Day 2:
I called th front desk last night for a wake up call at 8:30 am… I slept through it, and Ray ignored it. We ended up leaving the hotel at about 10:30.
Turns out, the legendary Mark Cerny was staying at the same hotel as us. We ended up sharing a cab on the way to the convention.
We get here, and our first interview was waiting for us in the press room. This is Perrin Kaplan of Nintendo legacy. She's very nice and super cool. Next was Jesse Divnich who is absurdly cool. Very knowledgable guy.
Now, it's lunchtime. Lunch is comped and delicious. I ended up at a table with legendary people noted above. Pachter was much cooler than I expected. He's actually a wrestling fan. I tried to just stay quiet and observe more than anything else.
After lunch, we had 2 panels to attend. Mark Cerny (very informative speech) and Bioware. After that we had an interview with Cerny, but had some time to kill, so I swung by the games lounge to see what's up.
I played Killzone 3 (which I spoke On earlier) and was unimpressed with the 3d. The only other games on tap were like Kirby's Epic Yarn, a bunch of Kinect demos, LBP2, and some racing game. The Indie game lounge had more going on, but the only game in there I expect anyone here heard of Is Limbo.
I keep walking past Jade Raymond and I'm tempted to say something because she's kinda hot, but not as hot as she appears on TV.
Anyway, Red Carpet interviews are quick and involve more waiting than anything. All in all, they went well (you'll see).
Awards ceremony… Jay Mohr is a funny dude. Bioware cleaned up, so did RDR.
At the after party now, and it's rather loud. I'm getting hungry and Ray is threatening me with something called Fatburger (which sounds delicious). He isn't drinking tonight because after last night, he seems to not feel up to it.
That about wraps up Day 2… To be continued.
wow, that sounds totally not fun at all
lol
That is so cool you got to meet Divnich!
Keep having fun out there.
Awesome. I have no idea what it is, but I could really go for a Fatburger right about now, as well.

What a day!
you keep proving my point that 3D is a gimmick
@n8
i'm hearing great things about Kzone 3 working very well with Move. what did you think of it?
It sounds like a great time all around. I wish i could go to DICE now :(
The Move component does work rather well. They actually have it on 2 TV's, one with the Move controllers as is, and one with the Move controllers inserted into this rifle peripheral thing. The rifle thing is pretty cool.
However, I'm still old school. I want to come home from work and RELAX while playing games. The Move stuff would be fun for parties and stuff, but I'm actually a pretty boring dude anymore. I'll still stick with the controller.
@N8
hmmmm i'm intrigued but i would rather not get all hot and sweaty fighting off the Helghast. Are you thinking about picking this game up?
Honestly… I'm burnt out on FPS's as a whole. They are all starting to seem the same to me, alot like how all racing games seem the same to me.
I like some aspects of KZ3 that keep it fresh, like how it's not just a kill all enemies thing and they give you more to do (from an MP standpoint), but I doubt I'll be picking it up… But maybe.
@n8
I like thst about kzone too. I like the fact that you can go through all the mp game modes all at once. I've yet to see any lobbies for CoD that do.
KZ doesn't strike me as a party game. I can't see motion working for me or my crowd in any cspacity
