If you’re a frequent Amazon shopper then I kindly ask you to consider two things. If you’d like to support RPadTV then kindly go to Amazon through this link. If you’re interested in supporting a number of different charities through your purchases then check out Amazon Smile. It’s a great initiative that gives 0.5 percent of the revenue from your eligible purchases to the charity of your choice.
What’s cool about Amazon Smile is that it requires no effort after you’ve picked your charity. You simply hit the Smile link and shop as you normally do. What’s just as cool is that a wide variety of charities are available. You can support large organizations like the American Red Cross or National Resources Defense Council. Or you can support local charities that help your city or town in a more direct manner. There are different types of charities too, ranging from legal defense funds, youth sports leagues, support for firemen, veteran care, women’s issues, and much, much more. You can change your charity at any time, if you’d like to help support a different organization or a different issue.
Amazon notes that you must use “smile.Amazon.com” in order for the charity of your choice to receive the funds.
If you’ve participated in Amazon Smile and are willing to share the charity you’ve picked, I’d love to hear about it in the comments section. As for me, I’ve chosen the NRDC. Many of you know that I try to live in a green-ish way and environmental issues are a big concern of mine, especially considering the incoming administration. In the future, I’d like to support something local. To my surprise, there are a number of Amazon Smile charities based in Henderson, NV. I’m going to do more research on them, as many of the ones listed lack detailed descriptions.
Now it’s your turn! Are you going to use Amazon Smile? What charity did you pick?
