NFL Playoff Fallout Monday!

Here’s some space to talk about last weekend’s NFL playoff games…and what exciting games they were! Being in NY for a Giants playoff win is always interesting. It’s never hard to find a NY bar full of rowdy and passionate sports fans. Good times. San Francisco, my other “home”, surprised loads of fans too. Did you predict that those two teams would be meeting in the conference championship?

Oh yeah, there were other playoff games too. Ha! Kindly share your thoughts on the games and predict the conference championships in the comments section.

  1. Well, since my Green Bay-New England Super Bowl prediction was a bust, I'm going to have to re-evaluate.

I'm still staying with the Pats for the Super Bowl with the added benefit of the home field advantage. The match up is as typical "Offense vs. Defense" as you can get, but ultimately I think that Flacco will have a hard time scoring and the Ravens losses are all road games, plus they've had a relatively weak schedule this year. Where the Ravens are highly emotional, the Pats are cold and calculated. The win goes to Belichick (that mother$&@*#!).

The NFC is a tough one to figure out (since I don't pay as much attention to as I do the AFC), so I'll just flip a coin and say … "San Francisco". Ok, seriously, though, the 49ers have had a tough time losing this year and one of those three was an AFC team and the other in OT. Also, the 49ers have beaten the Giants this year already, so I figure that they'll stick with the same game plan as last time. While the Giants are hot right now, they showed a crap-ton of vulnerabilities during November. If the New York that showed up yesterday plays San Francisco, then it'll be a really tight game, but the 49ers have been more consistent throughout the year and they have the home field advantage. I'm calling Frank Gore running all the way to Indianapolis.

  2. Giants can beat the 49ers. They were a wide open Mario Manningham drop on the 3 yard line from tying up the first game against the 49ers. Also, they were playing without a number of guys on defense who are healthy now.

That being said, I expect it to be a good game. I'll be pulling for my Giants, but whichever team wins will be a good rep for the NFC in the Super Bowl this year. I don't think either AFC team (Baltimore & New England) is a complete team.

Besides, a NY Giants/San Francisco 49ers playoff match up does have an "I Love the 80's" quality to it. Gotta love that.

  3. Blah. I'm so disappointed. 5 turnovers!!! And Greg Williams can go to hell. Dumbass.

Go Pats. I'd like a new guy to be mentioned as best of all time instead of Montana.

      1. I love how they mention Williams being an offensive coordinator then talk about his accomplishments as a defensive coordinator. Great job ESPN!

  4. I was happy to see the Broncos get their come-uppance… But I wouldn't wish that onslaught on anybody. Pats offense made the Denver defense look like midget league.

The best game this weekend was definitely SF/NO. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. I think giants/niners could be just as good… But I don't think either of them can beat the Pats. I think Baltimore stands the best chance against the Pats, but I think it's unlikely.

    1. It will be no blow out, thats for sure, and I really don't think the Ravens D this year can stop all the offensive power the Pats have now. At that time their was only Randy Moss and Wes was injured and they barely won. The Pats D definitely gives up big passing plays, but their red zone D is pretty hot, and thats all that matters.

  5. It's going to be a tough NFC game but SF did show that they could win even in a shoot out but I'll go with the Giants because I still don't believe in Alex Smith.

As for the AFC the Pats still have a lot to prove that they're back. This was their first win since losing the super bowl and perfect season. Let's see if they can come full circle and look at revenge against NYG on feb 5.

    1. Without 5 turovers SF doesnt win. They came close to losing still. Oh well, next year I guess. SB in NOLA too :)

      1. That's true but the real stat is points off turnovers because getting a turnover is good but if u can't do anything with the ball what good is it. They held them to 13 points off 5 to's that's a good ratio. Considering the field position on some of them.

      2. Well in the case of certain teams like Saints, Packers, Pats you'd honestly have to consider a turnover to be points off of the board too. Those offenses score very often. I get what you are saying but disagree with the shootout portion. I wouldn't say that Tebow won a shootout 2 weeks ago either.Sent from my iPhone 4

      3. I'm not saying the whole game was a shoot out but trading touchdowns and all the lead changes at the end were. I never thought that Alex smith would be able to step up and trade with drew brees like that but he did.

      4. You underestimate Greg Williams and his blitz 6 and leave their best guy in single coverage with a SS lol.

      5. Giants are coming with 4 and dropping 7 all night long against Alex Smith….and those 4 will get there. I guarantee you there's two guys on Vernon Davis all night long, because those WR's are not scary. At all.

  6. God there is no feeling like being right all week and then watching my new friends being crushed because they really believed that (libba la) Timmy and the Broncos were going to beat the Pats…ahhh.

Having said that, best game hands down was NO vs. SF holy shit that was amazing!

Pats and 49ers Super Bowl is what I want for obvious reasons but it will be Pats and Giants, I think the Gmen's D plays more physically than the 49ers. SF's D looks for the interception, the Gmen will lay you out and then take the ball lol.

    1. I'm doing great! Two different teams from a few years ago and even when the Pats lost earlier in the season. All I know is that I said the Pats will make the Superbowl, it's going to be a great effing game!

      1. Yeah, I think they'll play another great game. No predictions. After this season, I'm just thrilled to be here. But these two teams have got some great history, so it'll be fun to relive it.

  7. Dang, I can't predict the NFC for sh*t. I guess I only have an eye for the AFC, and like I've said since before the playoffs started; the Pats will be in the Super Bowl. I can't for the life of me figure out who will win though. Back in the day, I would have said "New England" hands-down, but now, I'm not so sure.

Big Blak, Nightshade- I expect a "N8-like" level of trash talking from the both of you. I know this can be somewhat difficult being civil gentlemen and all, but I aim to change that. I'll start you guys off by giving each of you a little motivation. Only watch the video I designate for you:
