What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I’ve been so caught up with digital comics, potential jobs, and the looming return of Amazon’s affiliate program to California that I haven’t thought about what I want to play this weekend. To be completely honest, I’ve also been extremely jealous of my friends attending Tokyo Game Show 2011. *sigh* I miss having a travel budget. I think I’ll just cuddle up with my iPad 2, alternating between games of Civilization: Revolution and Quarrel Deluxe.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist? Anyone else out there ducking RPadholic N8R in Mortal Kombat???

  1. I may or may not be playing N8R in MK this weekend, stay tuned to find out.

Also I am going out for my youngest brother birthday, he is finally 21 and Red State is going to be watched as well.

  2. Still playing Minecraft. I did take some time to play Killzone: Liberation last night, though. Maybe I'm not as far gone as I think I am.

  3. Batman: AA, as you can still see from my Gravatar. I beat the game on hard and completed all of the predator challenges (which were really fun, by the way). Hard mode was definitely a challenge, but I found out a great trick for getting you through the toughest fights on that difficulty (I'll explain if someone asks me how).

Completing the combat challenges, however, are a bit harder than I originally anticipated. My superior strategy of random button mashing isn't doing me much good. I'm going to have to actually attempt to be (*gulp*) skillful, which is something I've never exercised in any game before.

      1. I haven't given up on these challenges any more than you have beaten Big Blak at Mortal Kombat. Yes, you warned me and it has been dully noted, but I am determined. If I can master Cyrax's 7-hit combo in MK3, then I should be able to learn the Dark Knight's combo moves as well.

I will attempt to become a better fighter this weekend. I hope you already are. Taking down Big Blak seems to be a lot harder than the fighting challenges at Arkham. I'll send a green energy net your way compliments of my MK3 glory days.

      2. You learned Cyrax's 7 hit… not bad.

I knew EVERYBODY'S 7 hit and I could squeeze 10 out of Kabal…. The last 3 or 4 fighting rooms (Where they start to have assault rifles) put me on my ass.

Use that ground takedown (RT+Y) as much as possible to link your hits.

      1. At one time I was number 10 globally on one of the joker challenge maps, that was right when the game came out. So now I might be way lower

      2. You are probably right, but if you were able to get gold (or three bats) on the fighting challenge maps, I'll still welcome any advice.

      3. Haha. The funny thing about the speeder bike level…is that the levels after it were so much harder. This isn't based on me actual beating that level, but I did youtube someone playing the whole game. I'm willing to bet the person died nearly 100k times while memorizing all of the bs crap later on.

  4. I would have said Space Marine, but it was too damn short to make it to the weekend. I enjoyed it though.

      1. Thanks so much for mentioning that! I've been saving up a measly allowance to buy it, and missed the first opportunity a few months back.

Surely, I'll be playing it later today.

      2. Okay, so I downloaded Portal, started playing, and 3.5 hours later I'm laughing at the ending credits. That was some of the best puzzle-solving fun I've ever had.
Until they factored in the deadly neurotoxin. That was bad.

      3. Portal was my favorite game of 2008. It was just damn near perfect. Valve did an amazing job. I would love to hug everyone on the development team and send each one of them a nice fruit basket.

  5. So… as of right now, I've been playing MK for the past hour or so.

BB signed on about 10 minutes ago…and now he's watching Netflix… again

My Gamertag begins with A and is followed by a space. This usually puts me at the top of everyone's friends list. Right after the parties, there's my avatar looking like Sleazy P. Martini.

He knows I'm on… what I'm playing… and runs for the shelter of Netlix.

    *Lowers and shakes head

    1. Netflix- streaming thousands of excuse instantly. If you ever play MK on PS3, hit me up ( HalfNalcedgoat3).

      1. Holy f'n classic line, Batman.

I got it on 360 in hopes of a larger community and the fact that I have 2 Xboxes, 1 of which is my son's. I figured I'd get bored of it, let him learn some more basics (he played MKvsDC) and then bring it to me proper.

I'll still send you a PSN request though. I'm N8RfromRPADTV on there so it shouldn't be hard to know who sent you the request.

    2. I would… but the traffic in Boston is so bad, there's no way I could get to him in time.

As soon as I'd step off the plane, he'd smell what I butt-smuggled through TSA, know it's me, and catch a trolley for the hills.

  6. It'll be between FFXIV and White Knight Chronicles 2. ^^ Also I'm back after a huge hiatus.

      1. Well I picked up WKC2 on Tuesday, but I've been under the weather and fighting for the ps3 with Jeff b/c he just decided to get DCU Online. But so far I like it, they didn't change the fighting styles much. Added to the list of skills you can possess and of course a good continuation from it's predecessor. I'm still gonna e seeing this as a grind fest online.

  7. League of Legends.

I might go buy the 3DS and get StarFox. But I'll probably get caught up in ranked matches and shrug it off.

  8. @Everyone

I just beat Borderlands and I want to play more. I noticed there are 4 expansion packs @ $9.99 each or I can buy all 4 for $29.99. has anyone played them all? Are some better than others or am I better off just buying the bundle or just one?

    1. I played the hell out of it on 360… you want the bundle. They are all top shelf DLC releases.

The Mad Moxie is especially designed for multiplayer though, and General and Claptraps are pretty damn tough solo.
