I’m going to be visiting my old stomping grounds of San Francisco this weekend, but only virtually. You see, I’m playing Driver: San Francisco and it will be getting the bulk of my attention over the next few days. My addiction to Quarrel Deluxe is still going strong, so that will be my “break” game. The gameplay is so clever!
How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?
I really want to get a new game but not a newly released game, any suggestions?
I think Gameloft is having a back-to-school sale that has all its Android games priced at 99 cents. Pick up a few and enjoy some variety!
I just checked out the Gameloft website and I have all the games that I want from them. Nova 2 and Modern Combat.
Jumper; Griffin's Story.
(hey, it's cheap)

I can't say that I have heard of these games, I shall look them up.
Please note: I was being sarcastic when I suggested "Jumper: Griffin's Story. As a brother in gaming, I could not possibly recommend it in good conscience. As a Dolphin fan, however, I say: go for it.

I think this means play it at someone else's house if you want to beat the game.
I keep saying I'm going to pick up Brutal Legend ($12.99 I think) or Crash Bandicoot is pretty cheap I think too (I already have it, I just have to play it). Those should both be good. Otherwise Batman: AA was a lot of fun and should be under $20.
I smashed Batman AA when it came out, I didn't like Brutal Legend too much and Crash is not up my alley lol. I do appreciate your time and input.
Not a problem. Another one to try is Afro Samurai. I love Afro Samurai and the game was fun (I rented it once, haven't beaten it yet but someday I will). It's around the same price as Brutal Legend or cheaper at Gamestop if they have it in stock.
How is Family Game Night 3? The games on there don't seem like they would be the most fun as a video game.
I’m going to have to finish Fallout 3 (Mothership Zeta) this weekend, thus wrapping up my time in the capital wastelands and beyond. I need to get as many games in as I can before Gears 3. My wife and I typically have a conversation like this:
Her: “When is Gears of War 3 coming out?”
Me: “September 20”
Her: “Why can’t we get it now?”
Me: “Ask Cliffy.”
Her: “O.K., what’s Cliffy’s e-mail address?”
Me: “?!”

Or you could just send him a Twitter message.
Yeah, I think I can get the message in 140 characters or less:
"Dear Cliffy; My wife and I would like to re-kindle our marriage and she is demanding to know why we can’t play GoW3 now. Trust me, you don’t want to mess with her."
Now all I have to do is open up a Twitter account.

including the @ reply and taking out the "dear Cliffy" part, you are 26 characters over. Next step is still to get a twitter account though.
League of Legends.
Portal 2 if my Internet goes out.
Resistance 3 MP Beta
RoboTek
God of War Origins
I got so caught up with losing my job and school starting that I just realized they closed the Battlefield 3 Alpha
I dont have much gaming planned. If i do get to play im going to shoot for playing some uncharted, cod black ops, and super paper mario.
I'm playing through Dragon Age 2 this weekend. I'm trying to beat it before next weekend so that I can pass it on to a friend to play.
Over the weekend I got to hear, see, and mix down some original sessions from some classic songs (Whats going on, Killer Queen, and some Beatles song I never heard before) on Pro Tools. While they are not the original originals, they are digital copies of the original sessions.
Queen is amazing, we all know that. What I didn't know about them was that were super inventive with the little tech they had. Keep in mind there were only 14 tracks for this particular song. For example, each of the four vocal tracks had at least three different singing voices harmonizing in different octaves. That might not seem amazing or awesome to some of you but when you play all four tracks together, that is at least 12 layers of smooth Queeny goodness that produces that classic Queen sound.
Same goes for the guitar riffs at the end of the song. Brian May was playing the hell out of the guitar but in very small, repetitive, call and response sections. In the end it sounds like he has 18 fingers hitting the strings at once.
Seeing and hearing that has inspired me to be more creative with the tools that I have, instead of wanting more.
Queen is amazing on a tech-nerd level too. Brian May built a lot of his own gear to get his unique sound. Crazy that Freddie Mercury would have been 65 yesterday. What an amazing voice. What an amazing performer.
Yea man I love Freddie and Queen.
Look in to what the Beach Boys di for Pet Sounds if you want your mind blown again.
Bare in mind that Brian Wilson invented 4 track recording for that album. Because before that, everything was recorded live (which is it's own accomplishment by today's standards).
Brian Wilson is a mad genius.
More specifically… a mad genius on LSD.
Haha what is this live music thing you are talking about?!!! I have been recently listening to the Boys, I love their harmonies.
I had no idea that Brian Wilson invented 4 track recording.
Specifically Good Vibrations (not the Funky Bunch version)
Feel the vibrations!!!
Also from Boston… you gotta see the world, dude.
