What Are You Playing This Weekend?

This weekend I’m playing a thrilling single-player game called Unpacking. I’ve been back on the mainland for two days and my luggage is still mostly full. This needs to be remedied (mostly for clean underwear purposes). Also, I started reading George R.R. Martin’s A Dance with Dragons last night. Packing and reading will take up the bulk of my weekend, aside from my mandatory Civilization: Revolution iPad breaks.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. No idea… open to suggestions.

I did start another game of Heavy Rain recently. I'm hoping to let the killer get away with it on this run… but we'll see.

  2. I got L4D2 on my PC recently and it has become my default online game at the moment, but I'm trying to beat the two expansion campaigns for Dawn Of War 2 right now.

      1. Did you play EDF 2017 at all? I LOVED that game. It had 53 levels with 5 different difficulties and 171 weapons.
The second game has 15 levels and 3 difficulty settings (the levels can be very long though). The weapons come less frequently and not nearly as randomly. Only big enemies drop weapons and not all of the time. You don't run around picking up armor anymore to get strong. There is a leveling system now that tops out at Tier 5 on normal, Tier 6 on harder and Tier 7 on inferno. Each tier let you use/buy better weapons. Also with each tier you can have more armor points
Also there are 4 classes and not weapons are limited to each of the 4 classes.
So I had to explain all of this because it is fun and its not. It isn't the same as 2017 as far as just being mind-numbingly fun, but it isn't so far off that it isn't good.
Hope that helps. Its worth a rent though.

      2. Oh yeah. It also has online MP, Survival mode and 2p Co-Op. And a remix mode for the levels that spawns random enemy sets

  3. Possibly black ops, i just got dead rising 2 yesterday idk im open to suggestions as well

  4. Ironically enough, next weekend I'll be playing Packing, but I'll be playing it on multiplayer with my wife and son.

As for this weekend, I'll be playing NCAA Football 12 and Portal 2.

  5. I see two things in the image that really catch my attention. Fuzzy handcuffs, approve. PBR, disapprove. I try not to be a huge beer snob all the time, but PBR tastes disgusting to me. I would prefer Natty Ice or Keystone to PBR.

Not sure what I will be playing yet this weekend. So far I've been playing "job fair" and "endless application submitting." I think there's a glitch in those games though, no matter what actions are taken the results are the same—must be a recursive loop somewhere along the line. I would play some Pokemon but I completely forgot my DSi. Not having that gave me some time to finish up Dexter season 4 though. I thought season 3 was the best, but then season 4 just blew me away. I absolutely loved John Lithgow's character which made season 4 fun to watch. I'm not sure how I feel about starting season 5 though since I hated/loved the way season 4 ended.

I would really like to play Portal 2 finally, so I might have to go rent that sometime and make it through the campaign.

I've been playing that same game for about 2 years now with exactly the same results. I'm fairly certain that the game is broken.

      1. That's rough. Perhaps go back to school or go to grad school if you have an undergrad? The networking and exposure could be helpful.

Trust me. I went and got more credentials to help out and I haven't figured out if they were worth my time or money yet….but they did allow me exposure to some organizations that were helpful so far at least. Goodluck.

    1. I'm not the biggest comic book nerd, so I did double check this to make sure I was correct before posting this reply. Aquaman is a DC super hero, while Stan Lee writes Marvel comics. I hate people being technically wrong on issues like this, prior proof being my dislike of the IGN writer not knowing some basic history of the Pokemon series and Junichi Masuda.

It's still a cool ability, but that is poor writing. One of the most important parts of technical writing is knowing your audience; whoever wrote that clearly underestimated the audience, which is surprising since I think comic book fans are notorious for being technically right.

  6. I see the mistake and i am mad but not pissed off where it bothers me. Big mistake and i'm sure it wasnt on the netlix side of it either, but i should call them to complain about it and ask for a credit for the being inconvenienced.

    1. Extra +20 for contacting Netflix to complain.

The thing that irritated me the most was the fact that they are trying to sully Mr. Lee's great name by pinning the existence of Aquaman on him.

At least Namor had a better story arch.

      1. Haha. I agree nate. He's created so many iconic superheroes and to think he's responsible for aquaman and aqualad too is pretty outrageous.

  7. So I have to get a new plan and Virgin Mobile is the cheapest I can find. Anyone know which is better; the LG Optimus V or the Samsung Intercept?

    1. If you can wait a bit, the Motorola Triumph will be on Virgin Mobile towards the end of the summer. It's better than both of the phones you mentioned.

      1. How much do you think it will cost? If it is in my price range, I may garb a cheap phone till it comes out. I have to get a new phone within two weeks or I won't have a phone at all.

      2. I'm guessing $200 to $250. The Intercept is currently $200 and the Triumph is considerably better. Ergo the Intercept either has to be slashed or the Triumph will cost more.

      3. Don't know. If I could I would be looking for a Phone 7 or HTC. (I like Android, but being able access live on the go would be awesome for staying in touch with some of my friends.)

  8. I bought an Intercept last November. It's the first smartphone I've owned and I can say that it's not a bad little phone. Certainly not the best by any means, but if you're just using it in the interim, it might be okay. Granted, I don't know anything about getting the most out of one's smartphone.

  9. I got to see HP7 pt.2 and it left me with a meh feeling. If anyone has seen it or read the book and wants to discuss it. Please but as of right now i feel the end was very anti-climatic and seemed to drag at times.
