I’ll spend most of my gaming time this weekend being heroic in DC Universe Online. I’m still enjoying the game, but I’m still not sure I want to play for more than a month. I keep waiting for the game to kick it up a notch…and it hasn’t happened yet. My copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 arrived. I played the hell out of the single-player mode during “super secret project” August. I’m looking forward to giving it another whirl and playing some user-created levels.
How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?
@Rpad
I've played LBP2 and i hate the grapple hook addtion. I can't figure out how to use it correctly, it's a little frustrating not only to me but my gf too. She was excited to play but her excitement waned as we played the level with the grappling hook. Did you also have issues with this during your super secret project? any tips?
I think i'll get into some Black Ops and Batman: AA. I really wanted to get DCUO but with everyone saying it's not worth beyond the free month i think i'll wait to see if the any future DLC is made available that pique's my interest again. I might pick up dead space 2 though.
Wow, I had zero issues with the grappling hook and really, really enjoyed using it. I'm not sure if it was tweaked since I played, but I'll check it out.
It doesn't look like i'll be able to get Dead Space 2 now. My mechanic just called and told me that my radiator needs to be replaced but doesn't how much it's going to be?! i've done some online searching and found my radiator new is $193.99. SOB!
I know how you feel. My radiator had some issues a couple of years ago and I had to get it replaced as well. I paid around $200.00 as well, but it varies on the car you have, of course.

Dead Space 2. I'm loving it. It's really intense. I'm running into two main problems though:
1) I cannot play it during the day because my son is awake and roaming around the house. Even when he's supposed to be taking his nap, he generally keeps coming out for like an hour before he falls asleep, and then he's only down for like an hour, so that's not enough time to get in some serious gaming and guarantee that when he wakes up I'll be close enough to a save point not to lose significant progress.
2) Since I can only play it at night, I find I need to spend about a half an hour playing something else before I go to bed if I actually want to sleep.
@nightshade
Which system do you have it for? have you played any of the multiplayer?
I have it for the 360. I haven't played any of the multiplayer yet s I generally like to get through the story mission before I dive into multiplayer
@nighshade
ok kool. if you're playing it to get a review done, please post a link or send out a tweet. i'd love to read up on it before i buy it, especially since i've never played the first one.
I am indeed playing it for review. I'll be sure to do that.
Oh ok kool. thank you sir.
Wow! i'm really interested in playing. i just saw a youtube video of all the death scenes in Dead Space 2 and i really want to play it. I can't wait to get out of work soon so i can play the Dead Space game on my iphone!
Agreed, I love Dead Space 2 as well. Those Necromorphs with 2 hands and a tail are annoying, they fly at you out of nowhere and they're hard to hit while in the air flying at you really fast. I'm on chapter 11 and I've had quite a few good scares. I got the platinum trophy for Dead Space 1 but I don't think I'll be getting the platinum for Dead Space 2 because of that beating the hard core mode trophy. If you don't know, you only get 2 saves for the entire game and when you die you go all the way back to your last save if you have a save point already, if not you go back to the beginning. That's brutal.
I'm not fond of the "save point" system at this point in game development in most cases due to the fact that 90% of games have built in check points. However, in a horror game it works better I think because it adds to that sense of desperation that they're trying to make you feel.
True, but in order to beat hard core mode it forces you to play for long 4 or 5 hour sessions seeing that you only have 3 saves the entire game.
Yeah well, I'm playing it for enjoyment, not punishment.
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom. Great game.
Will DCUO require you to pay for content patches on PS3? That's a dealbreaker on that platform lol.
@smartguy
that's a good question but i think if you're paying the monthly sub the patch or any DLC will be free as long as you're a sub.
My take on DCU:
I have a feeling that once the first month is up, I'm gonna fiend for it. It's just fun. I'm like a level 17 on my one character and have a ways to go to top him out, but I'm anxious to see what happens when you get to the higher levels.
Also, I haven't touched the PVP yet, and I'm willing to bet that that's a whole new ball of wax.
I just wish it was more like $5 or $10 a month. Or better yet, no subscription at all. I also wish they'd get the voice chat up and running.
I don't think I'm buying DCU until they flesh out the endgame more. An MMO isn't worth paying for w/o that.
How do you mean?
Do you want a spoiler for how it ends?
@N8R
I'm not talking about the story. I mean raids. Things to do at max level that give you a reason to keep playing instead of rerolling a new toon.
There's a ton of endgame gear that looks very cool and powerful.
I think in 2 months a lot of the community will be lvl 30 and ready to raid. That's when I'll probably join up. How many end game raids are there?
You've been spoiled by World of Warcraft. I think it'll be a while before any MMO game can dethrone that one for you.

@tokz
Goodluck with the repair. Radiator, labor and tax prob put that closer to $500 unless he cuts you a deal. I'd recommend a new radiator rather than a used one. Don't mess with your cooling lol.
@smartguy
oh i know. i got this repair pal app and i was looking at the estimated cost the low end was $493 and the high end was $675. i was like wow! wtf! my car is old i'm really thinking about just junking it and getting a new one, my 2002 intrigue is definitely on it's last legs.
@tokz
Def a cost benefit analysis to be had. It's always cheaper to repair once per year than pay a note though. If it is 3-5 times then yeah go buy a new ride.
I almost spit up blood and tissue when I replaced the bearings on my Silverado HD.
@Smartguy
well i got the call and he said $270 because i'd been taking it in every other day this week so i've already made like little payments. So he's not charging me labor on that but the parts yeah. So i think i might get it done. He said i can give him $160.00 and the rest later. i just re-newed my insurance and i'd hate to cancel it now, idk if there's a cancellation fee but i don't want to find out. it looks like my gf and i have some car shopping to do now. :(
@Tokz
I'd pay for the part and get it done.
@Smartguy
haha! i just called him to get it done and refreshed the page and saw ur post.!
@iceman
:) yep. When Diablo 3 launches I'll quit WoW probably.
@sandrock
Let me know what you think of Crysis 2 demo. The controls seemed kinda off to me. Overall it seemed pretty neat but I'd like the guns to do more damage.
it looks i will be playing a Dead Space game this weekend. Dead Space is available for iOS 6.99 for iphone. thank god for itunes gc's. i forgot i had money in itunes.
lbp2 if its working sly 3 and uncharted2
Bioshock 2; Minerva's Den and multiplayer. I'm on a mission to 100% that game. It's probably not a smart idea right now with a needy wife and all, but my determination factor has kicked in, and it cannot be stopped by any force in the known universe.

Crysis 2 Demo and Pokemon XD. Might play some Assassin’s Creed if it comes in before Sunday.
I'm going to be Ezio Auditore this weekend. Or is it Desmond?
