Most of the tech world has accepted that Verizon will announce the iPhone 4 at its press conference tomorrow. Some believe that Apple CEO Steve Jobs will be on hand and some don’t. On one hand, it’s a pretty huge partnership and the date is quirky cool (1/11/11 at 11AM!). On the other hand, some believe that Jobs is saving himself for new product announcements like that iPad 2 and iPhone 5; these people believe that an old product on a new network doesn’t merit an appearance by his royal highness grandmaster Steve Jobs.

No I don't think he will.
He will and it will be glorious!
I said yes, but I think the question shouldn't be so much whether he will or not- but whether he should. I voted yes because I think that he should be there. As Ray mentioned he might wait for the iPhone 5 or iPad 2, and those would be perfectly acceptable appearances as well, but I think it is necessary at the public start of a partnership like this. Especially one that has been whispered about and anticipated for so long.
i don't think he's going to be there in person but he will probably be there via some pre-taped video or via some video conference thing.
FaceTime!
I think he will because he is the Reality Distortion Generator and Apple knows it. If they want to sell ice cubes to Eskimos, all they have to do is call Jobs to stamp an Apple logo on it and call the Apple iCube "magical".

Does it matter is Apple knows it? This isn't an Apple event. It's a Verizon event. That's a hugely important distinction.
